The cavern ceiling cracked.
A loud explosion echoed above us as massive chunks of stone broke free and crashed toward the ground. Dust filled the air instantly, turning the entire chamber into chaos.
“Theodore!” I shouted.
“I’m here!” His voice cut through the noise as his arms wrapped around me again, pulling me out of the path of falling debris.
A huge rock slammed into the ground where we had been standing seconds earlier.
The ancient wolves howled in pain.
Dark chains still wrapped tightly around their massive bodies, glowing with the enemy Alpha’s twisted magic. The more they struggled, the tighter the chains seemed to bind them.
My chest burned with helpless anger.
