Sleepless

Ken POV

Its been more then a year since I started training under Sierra she has been training me like a commando trains his trainees she is really fierce.

And its been more then a year since I swore to be there for Sierra no matter what as I have taken her as my soul sister because she was there for me with me when I needed someone to be there for me when my own family didn't even once called me in first four months or check on me I am just twelve and they seriously left me alone just because I said I want to live alone.

On the other hand Sierra stood by my side when I needed anything she gave me comfort when I woke up in middle of the nights because of those nightmares that in start repeated on daily basis and with her and the doctors help it has reduced tremendously.

I don't know but whenever I see her while our training sessions I have seen her fierceness, her determination, I don't know for what but it looks like that she is preparing herself for something, like she is preparing for war that she herself is going to finish. She has always stayed beside me whenever I went to the doctors appointment she would just hold my hand like a mother reassuring me that everything is ok and she is there for me.

Once I had slept without taking sleeping pills for me to not have nightmares but still I woke up in the middle of the night hearing screams and not from nightmares.

Those screams were definitely not mine and by hearing the voice my eyes immediately widened and I ran towards her room and barged to save her but stopped in my tracks as I saw there was no one there and she was thrashing in her own bed while screaming it looked like she was having nightmares.

"Help, help, someone please help us MONSTERS", she kept on shouting these words and it looked like she was in too much pain and even though she was sleeping tears were running down her cheeks continuously.

I didn't know what to do as her screams were scaring me because those screams were reminding me of those innocents that got ruined in front of my eyes when they were thrashing in his hold but there was no one who could help them.

 I rushed out of the room unable to bare that scene that was making my hands tremble. It looked like she has gone through something that she is hiding from me and why not wont she hide when I am being such a coward who cant even look at her screaming just because it reminds me of those innocents then what would I do when I would have to rescue them I cant runaway every time deciding to go back be there for her I left my room but when I was leaving I saw her wearing a hoodie and leaving the house.

I waited for her to return thinking she would return soon but she returned after hours just before sunrise I didn't ask her anything as I didn't wanted her to remember about it.

For few days I left taking that sleeping pills completely without her knowing as she always just reminds me of medicines and I heard her screams almost every night which was terrifying and after her screams would stop after fifteen to twenty minutes she would quietly leave the house in hoodies at night and would always be back before sunrise.

I could tell by these nightmares that are not stopping that something more terrible has happened to her then anything to me. She hides her pain well and now I am getting worried for her that she doesn't sleep all night and even during days I have not seen her even taking naps she just trains me, work outs herself, go to school and all other unnecessary things.

I am really curious to know where she goes every night after nightmares and I just cant stop myself so right now I am following her with a total street distance but she is just roaming around the city while going in streets that are totally abandoned but I don't know why?.

Its seriously confusing that its been an hour since I am following her but she not going anywhere particular and suddenly she ran to a nearby valley and I ran after her wanting to know what made her run but when I reached from where she ran I heard muffled shouts.

"Help, someone help", it was a girls shouts and I immediately ran after Sierra because I wanted her to be safe but when I reached near the end of the valley I saw Sierra beating two guys to pulp all alone while a girl is standing there while hugging to herself when those two guys got unconscious Sierra went towards the girl and started shouting at her.

"What do you think you are doing out at this time of the night? If you cant protect yourself then don't leave your house at this time or at least don't come near these abandoned places", she shouted at her while I immediately hid around the corner of the wall because even I am out at this time and I don't want to face the wrath and go through what she made those two go through and that girl just started sobbing louder then before.

"Ok tell me what you are doing here?", Sierra sighed and asked that girl while holding her by her shoulders slightly when she saw her sobbing louder but the next second that girl hugged Sierra tightly and it looked like that Sierra was her lifeline.

Not wanting to interfere and eavesdrop on Sierra I decided to leave but stopped in my tracks when I heard her next words which left me in shock.

"You can tell me I go by the name HOPE at nights", she said this and I stumbled and slightly lost my footings with shock that she is HOPE.
