Slow Steps

Sam POV

I think I found the one who is worth my love. All the while during dinner we all would glance at Sierra and uncle because we all could see even without a blood relation their bond is stronger then anyone what made me emotional was when I saw a tear roll down through uncles cheeks. And let me tell you Sierra would make a perfect wife for me her care for her loved one and her extremely good cooking skills is something to die for.

Waking up with only one motive and that is to keep boys away in school from Sierra because she is mine I rose up and got ready just when I was going to leave for breakfast mom came in and sat on my bed.

"So you like her", mom said like a question but it came out as a statement.

"Yes", that's all I could answer her because I don't know what she thinks about Sierra.

"Good but remember take slow steps towards her", she said while fixing my collar and I asked the only thing that came to my mind.

"You don't have any problem?", I asked looking at her thinking maybe she would have some problem with her.

"Why would I have any problem?", she said frowning at me.

"May be because she is not uncles real daughter", I replied nervously.

"And that's where you are wrong she is definitely his daughter have you not seen their bond and more importantly she would make a perfect wife for you", she replied grinning at me and left my room with me tailing behind.

When I entered the kitchen left me stunned uncle was cooking breakfast while Julie and Brian were bickering.

"Why are you cooking uncle?", I asked once I settled on one of the bar stools against the counters.

"Because today is Fires first day at school and I want to make it special for her", He replied smiling at all of us while flipping pancakes.

"Uncle why do you call her Fire", Brian asked and we all looked at him curiously because seriously it is a weird nickname.

"That you will understand when you will look in her eyes when she commands", his reply was weird but we will find out soon if he is right.

Mom is really weird first she herself told me that take slow steps towards her but after breakfast she was continuously hinting for Sierra to be my wife. I am thankful that she asked me to take Sierra to school because that way I will some time alone with her even though I wont make any move towards her but I will get to sit alone with her.

During whole ride to school I kept glancing towards her who was clearly thinking about something when we reached the schools parking lot she left the car quickly mumbling a thank you. 

Today I decided attend classes instead of bunking it because I want to be there for Sierra if something happens I was following her thinking she would probably ask someone for office direction but surprisingly she knew  the directions I left from there and entered my first class with Brian when the bell rang and everyone in the class were looking at us with surprised expressions because usually on Mondays we don't attend classes we took our seats at the back of the class When the professor arrived after sometime there was a knock on the door followed by Sierra.

When she entered boys were whistling which made me mad because she is mine.

Then professor asked her to introduce herself but her introduction surprised me she was directly them and now I understand why uncle call her fire because there was this fire in her eyes which was telling that don't touch or she will burn you.

When the time of lunch break came I immediately went to cafeteria for two reasons one that I am really hungry and second I wanted Sierra to sit with us.

When I sat on our usual table where Seth and Ron were already sitting and immediately their attention towards me like asking for some answers I raised my eyebrows as in saying what to which Ron asked me the question.

"There is a talk going on that you brought a hot chic today to school", I nodded at him and added before he could say anything.

"She is uncle Benji's daughter and came to live with us yesterday and she is off limits because she is mine", I told him firmly looking in their eyes daring them to make a move on her.

"Whoa possessive guy we wont fine cool down but will she sit with us", Seth asked me but before I could answer a voice said behind me.

"Of course she will she is our responsibility here right Sam", Julie questioned behind me and I nodded relief that she will bring her here with us Julie doesn't makes friend in school because she hates it when the girls ask her to them up with any of us and she hates it that's why she just sits with us four.

"Guys she is here Julie you go and make her sit with us", said Brian pointing where Sierra was with her lunch and I saw as Julie dragged her to our table and after introducing her to Seth and Ron we just started some random conversation.

After a while we all saw behind her where Ben and his friends were again bullying his brother I don't really understand what is his problem if Ken doesn't fight what is the problem in the corner of my eye I saw Sierra getting up but I immediately held her hand because I want her to get in their family issue.

After a while when she heard Kens voice she turned around like a flash like she knows that voice and then I heard her command

"Ken fight back", and I know that she knows him everyone was laughing but I knew something is doomed to happen when I saw the expressions of Ken like he is determined but is just asking for permission and when Ben was making fun of his brother what happened left us all stunned Ken punched him that knocked him out and that kind of only trained people can throw and I left her hand knowing that there is something that is between them.

She opened her arms as in inviting him and Ken came running into her arms he burried his face in her neck like a baby monkey breaking from the hug she held his hand and left the cafeteria leaving the whole cafeteria stunned behind.

"Did that really happen one order from Sierra and Ken fought that man who was just silently bearing the torture of his brother for years now just fought on one command", Brian said still looking at the cafeteria door from where Sierra just left with Ken we all left towards our classes when the bell rang indicating that recess was over.

Sierra POV

Rest of the day went silently and I got to know that Ken and me we both have same classes he was not here in the morning because he came late I didn't asked him anything that why was he bearing it when I know he can fight because I trained him myself for self defense all throughout he was walking like he is my bodyguard and I am his responsibility.

When the time came to leave for home I told him that he is coming with me to my house and he silently agreed now I am waiting for Sam to take me home because Ben had punctured Kens car just to make suffer more.

"Can you give Ken a lift too?", I asked Sam immediately as I saw him entering the parking lot with his friends and Julie in tow.

"Sure where to?", he asked me looking between Ken and me maybe trying to figure out our relation.

"To our house where else?", I asked in the Duh tone.

He nodded his head and we all left to his house but the difference was that in return Ron, Seth and Ken were also with us.

When I reached I was taking him to my room where a voice stopped me in my tracks.

"Fire no boys in the room", Dad said I was going to argue but he gave me a stern expression that told me to listen to him quietly its better for everyone. I don't know where others disappeared to because there was no one in sight I nodded my head like a obedient daughter I am which I seriously am not but I followed  his order and took Ken to the living room.

I sat on the couch and patted the seat beside looking at him he obediently said beside me I wanted to ask him many questions but decided otherwise when I saw tears in his eyes I just made him rest his head on my lap and patted his head like old times to console him when he would cry his heart out.

"shh its ok its ok just cry I am here cry all you want I am here I wont ask anything tell me when you are ready ok?", I said cooing him like baby I felt him nod his head on my lap and I just patted his head continuously while he kept shedding tears silently.

I don't know when I slept with his head on my lap but when I woke up I was alone laying on the couch with a blanket on me I stood from the couch went towards the kitchen in search of Ken but was greeted with a sight that made me angry Ken was tied to a chair and his face was beaten while dad, Ken, Brian and others except Anna were standing around him looking at him angrily.

"Tell me how do you know Sierra?", Dad asked him and he looked like he was losing his patience. 

"I already told you its not my story to tell", he replied lowering his hand I knew he was controlling himself because I know he can easily free himself from the ropes but he is respecting my dad which made me angry.

"What do you all think you are doing?", I shouted from the doorway looking at all of them when they turned to look at me.

"Ken free yourself now", I ordered and with in seconds he freed himself coming towards me leaving all of them shocked.

"I am disappointed dad", shaking my head I left them alone.
