The other woman only grunted. A squadron of pyro fighters rushed ahead of the Scrappy, moving to engage a cluster of drones that blocked their path. Jack held his breath as he watched through the VR-goggles. It was pandemonium, small spacecraft zigzagging in all directions, nearly crashing into each other. But they made a hole. With the drones distracted, he had a clear path to their mothership. Which was just what he needed. He saw the battlecruiser waiting in the darkness. A streak of green light sped from its front cannons. With a quick, downward slide, Shinela had that plasma burst sailing over Jack’s head. Another shot came at him, but the Scrappy slid to the right, allowing the plasma to rush over its port wing. All the while, the enemy ship crept closer. “Return fire!” Jack bark
