Anna had failed to notice that Cassi was compromised, and Cassi’s “assassination attempt” on Jeral Dusep had put a monster in the Prime Council’s office. Anna had failed to stop Dusep’s flagrant a***e of human rights, had failed to rescue the immigrants from the detention centres.
She could have done it; it was as simple as putting together a team and raiding the facility. But she had wanted a solution that worked within the law. Because there was always a solution if you just looked hard enough. You never had to compromise your principles or make difficult choices.
