The force-field rushed through the space where they had been, clipping a bench that was bolted to the floor, mangling it into a pile of crumpled metal. The rest of that energy barrier hit the wall and left a spiderweb of cracks in the tiles.

Tugging on the back of his shirt, she pulled him toward the train. Arin turned, and together, they jumped through a shattered window, landing in an aisle between two sets of red-cushioned seats. Bullets soon followed them, whizzing across the width of the train, punching through windows on the other side.
