“Let’s go.” It took all of thirty seconds to find a stairwell in the corridor to Jack’s left. They climbed up to the second floor and found a waiting room that was similar to the lobby except with no pillars and chairs along the wall. A large window that overlooked the front entrance allowed plenty of sunlight to come through. But that wasn’t all they found. Another Jack stood in the middle of the waiting room, flanked by another Jena and that guy Melissa used to date. Aiden. So, he was still working for Slade. And as a reward for his loyal service, he now had a duroplastic hand in place of a real one. Slade, of course, wore unrelieved black: pants, a shirt and a light vest that wouldn’t stop anything stronger than a pistol round. Other than that, he was the spitting image of Jack. Sam
