Chapter 12

Ophelia slept on the bed with Tabnam next to her. She moved in her sleep. She curled up next to him into his chest. He moved his arm and pulled her closer to him. He stroked her hair and she purred into him.

After a while she slowly opened her eyes. She took a few seconds to realize that was happening before she moved away and turned away from him.

The door opened and Ulyssa came in with a tray of food. "Sorry, captain, thought you had already left for the day." She smiled at him then walked out of the room. 

Once the door closed Ophelia got out of bed and went into the closet to grab clothes to put on. She didn't look over at him; she was embarrassed by what she had done in her sleep. After what happened when she tried to seduce to get away she didn't want to come off like she was still trying to seduce him. 

She heard the door open but not close. 

"Hi, boss! Is she ready to go out?"

"Lia, pet, you got a visitor." She heard the electronic laugh from him. Ophelia stepped out of the closet in clothes that looked the same as all the others she had been wearing.

She saw Meri standing there towering over Tabnam smiling at her.

"Let's go met the gang." She grabbed Ophelia and took her out into the hall. "Most of the crew that is on break will be in the eating hall so they will have a nice surprise today." She skipped along the hall. Ophelia everytime Meri got near a light thought she was going to hit it by her height. They took the shaft down to a few floors before the opened to a large space with tables and beings filling them. 

All eyes turned to look at her and the whispers started off soft got loud. Ophelia didn't feel comfortable as she hoped. Meri grabbed her it helped block out all the whispering from everyone in the room. She pulled her towards a table that wasn't full like the others.

"Meri, I see you finally brought Lia with you." A short female said.

"Yup, boss is letting her hang with me."

“Lia," the female started. "How is it to be always around the boss?"

"He's never around." Ophelia said. 

"Shame." 

Ophelia looked at her confused. 

"What Aurora is trying to say is that she is jealous like every other girl on this ship." The only male at the table said. "He doesn't bring any girl into his room. You are definitely something special to him, but I don't see it."

"What Orion is trying to say is,'' Aurora started, "The boss doesn't get close to anyone and to have you in a room with him is a big deal. Especially when it makes Ulyssa have steam coming out of every hole she has after giving you food." Aurora laughed.

"I'm guessing she doesn't like any female near him?" Ophelia asked. 

"If she had it her way," Meri said, "she would have married him already."

"Why? He isn't like Adrik. He's very mean to me." Ophelia's face turned down because she wanted nothing more than Adrik.

"I already told you the boss saved you from all of that."

"He ripped me away from the person I cared the most about. Just like my parents did. They also said it was for the best."

"Lia, we didn't know, but you have to trust us, please." Meri put an arm around her.

A ding rang through the room. Everyone in the room got quiet.

"Greetings everyone, I am letting you all know I am scheduled to leave and will be gone for a few days. That is all." Another ding and everyone started talking like it hadn't interrupted them.

"Yes another party." Aurora said excitedly. 

"Another party?" Ophelia asked. 

"It's so great when the boss leaves on his trips we get to party until he comes back." The smile on her face looked like she was going to split open.

Ophelia started to think about how she could get out now that he was leaving and everyone being busy with the party. 

"Lia. Lia. Lia!" Meri tried to get her out of her thoughts. 

"Huh?" She looked at her unable to recognize what was going on.

"You have to go meet the boss there was a call for you."

"Oh! Okay. I'll try and find you later if I can. It was great meeting you two hopefully it will be before the party." Ophelia smiled at them.

"Bye, Lia." They both said.

Ophelia moved out of the large room to the shaft to take her back to the room she had been sharing with Tabnam not sure if that was where he was going to be. She got to the floor and saw him standing outside the door.

"Lia, pet, good. I have to take off, but because of that. I'm going to finally move you back into a room by yourself." Ophelia looked at him confused. "It will lock and can't unlock for anyone but you and myself." He tried to reassure her not sure that was the reason for her face.

"Thank you?" 

"Let me show you before I head down to the docking station." He moved to walk away. She followed him. They took the shaft up one level and walked down the hall to turn down another which turned into another. He stopped at a door. He put in a code and a pad came out. "Put your hand there." He pointed and Ophelia followed his directions. It scanned her hand then he put in another code and the door opened. He stepped into the room and she followed. This room was bigger than the original room he had given her but it was the same size or a bit smaller she couldn't tell from his room. "Nothing she be able to get in while I'm gone. I hope you enjoy the party." He started to walk away.

"You know?" She was shocked. 

"I do. I don't mind it. Plus with a girl like Ulyssa on this ship I know everything that happens." He smiled at her and left her in the room.
