Ghost

That's the voice. ( Says George who walks towards his wife Emily )

George ; That's the voice over the phone, the security man

Emily ; ( to Dora ) Is this your husband?

Dora ; (looks at her husband approaching , she shivers , sweating profusely)

Yes that's my husband

Emily; (to George , ) They only just moved in .

Dora's husband; (as he approaches them, Dora panics and hides behind Emily , George standing beside Emily)

I told you to keep your wife indoors at night George ! ( he laughs maniacally)

(Emily and George stares at each other)

Dora ; I told you that ain't my husband , that's not my husband's voice , and he doesn't even know your names . I think he's possessed....please do something

Emily; Who are you ? the security , we know you're hiding behinds Dora's husband, and it's frightening enough, just get it over with .

Dora's husband; I tell you it is not safe to walk around at night ,

are you not afraid of not ever finding your way back into the house one of these nights ? You should keep taking the pills Emily

(Emily begins to lose her posture , panting , looking really furious , George stands in front of Emily and asks her to go back into the house )

George ; Go back inside honey ....

Emily; ( To Dora)

You're right , that man isn't your husband right now , come with me

(she urges Dora in and they enter Emily's house together, looking back , they reach the door and as Emily was about opening it, George lands a punch on Dora's husband face , Emily gasps , and covers her mouth with her palm, Dora's eyes widens)

George ; What did you say to my wife ? You're the one who has been messing up with my family? What? fake security guy ?

Emily; ( calls out to George ) George !!

(Dora's husband touches his face and this time he's back to being his face where he's hit ,,,, and lifts his head , then George says

George ; What , do you want another punch?

Dora's husband; (confused and almost crying not knowing why he's hurt )

What ? Give me a punch for what ?

(his voice back to his normal voice , Dora hears this and runs towards her husband, excitedly)

( George becomes confused as well, the man's voice suddenly changes like a flickering switch , Emily walks towards George )

Dora ; ( hugs her husband ) Honey it's you again , oh Thank God !

Dora's husband; What in the world happened, we were inside the room just now and this man is giving me a punch , I'm so pained ( he whimpers)

George ; Uhm , I am sorry , there's being a confusion

Dora ; it's fine , that one punch definitely brought him back (she holds her husband, heading back to their apartment,)

Thank you ...

( George waves them bye , as the husband continues to whimper, and Dora telling him

"it's fine honey, common ,.let's go"

Emily; That was a hell of a punch Babe ! you brought him back with one , a second one would have got him re possessed by that ghost security guy

George : He did sound like him though.

Emily;Well , Poor man is in pain

(the couple smiles and walks into their house , George opens the door, Emily enters and George locks the door behind them ...... .The security guy's ghost stands in front of Emily's house , staring at their door , touching his face , as it burns from the prints of Georges ring, the ring on the smallest finger , on the right hand that he punched Dora's husband with,

the part of the ghost's face touched by the ring burns , like scorching hot fire flakes , the ghost stares continuously at their door , looking furious.....)

(In the morning, Emily is seen at Dora's door , she knocks and Dora opens )

Emily; hey !

Dora ; Hello Emily, thank you for your help last night

Emily; it's nothing really. Here's an ointment for your husband's face , please take it .

Dora ; Oh I appreciate this . Thank you

Emily; And uhm, You should definitely hold a dinner, tonight, a reciprocating dinner , I did the same.

( Emily turns to leave , as she takes a few steps out of Dora's)

Dora ; I guess more unexplainable things will happen to my family if I don't

This place is weird , everything my husband did last night was strange, but I won't let this place break me, cus it's our last shot at a home

I'll give them their dinner and they'll leave me be. !

Emily; Mmmh mmmh

( without looking back , her eye lids flickers with worry)

Dora ; You seem like the only reasonable family around here .... Thank you

Emily : (Sucks her lip, sighs and turns back to face Dora slightly)

You should uhm , refrain from playing loud music , to avoid unnecessary guests like last night , you know

(smiles, and turns to leave as Dora's eye balls wonders in her head )

(Emily walks down the street towards the Church, she slowly walks by the church with her hands in her pockets , A man in his fifties , dressed as a Priest stands at the door of the church and stares deeply at her , Emily stops for a second and tilts her head downwards a bit to bow to the priest, for some seconds he stands there like a statue , unmoved , but then suddenly he does a bow too , Emily almost shocked or at the least panicked, sighs and continues on her way, as she mumbles To herself )

"He actually responded, that's new, thought all the men are walking dead, mmmh , like that one "

(Directing her gaze upon a passing by male resident and his daughter , as they walk by like robots controlled to walk in a particular type of fashion , very weird that Emily cannot bear to look them in the eye , they look so pale like ghosts, .....

She finally arrives at the front of a library , the library's door is open ,and a sign that reads Roseville Library is at the edge , she walks in and and begins to browse through the numerous books there , strolling, eventually she picks a book, sits and starts to read .

As she continues to read , suddenly the door closes on its own in a very alarming manner, the lights begin to flicker and the books on the table where she reads starts to open their pages on their own , Emily frightens , and pants , she reaches for the door , twisting the knob , and banging the door, she continues to bang the door , and eventually it opens , at the door is Rachel the florist, she throws a very fine smile at Emily ....)

Emily : (gasps) Oh Rachel , You , I didn't expect to see you

Rachel ; I heard the door banging, and I could swear I saw you come in here a while ago.

( she checks her wristwatch)

Say Some three hours now...

Emily: What? Can't believe I've been here for three hours , I must head home now

(she grabs her phone and the book she was reading from the table looking around the library as though investigating , then she rushes back to the door, which they leave open , She and Rachel walks together ....)

Rachel: The books are definitely bewitching, they eat up your time

Emily; I'm certain that's what happened to me .

(they arrive at Rachael's shop, she stops, )

Rachel ; I must arrange some nice flowers for our new family, I hear they're hosting a dinner tonight by seven

Emily; Mmmh mmmh, I guess they are

Rachel ; (pats Emily on her shoulder)

You're a good neighbor! you did tell her after all

Emily: (smiles, as she softly shakes off Rachel's hand on her shoulder )

I couldn't not tell her ....

Rachel ; (sighs with a little smile, and a wink)

I see.. I'll see you there then.

(Emily arrives home , and George is waiting at the entrance , furious)

Emily: You are home early

George ; You are late ! Where have you been ?

Emily; Late for what ? The dinner isn't starting until seven , as I heard !

George; I did not mean the dinner , our daughter had a seizure !

Emily; ( screams and passerbys casts their attention on she and George ).

What ?? !!

( she hurries to the door as George opens it , they lock the door behind them, and Emily heads into Tiwa room upstairs )

What In the world happened?

George ; Thankfully I entered just in time , saw her grasping for life in the living room

Emily; ( throws her hair backwards, her palm covering her mouth in awe , sheoves closer to Tiwa bed , caressing her head )

Tiwa.! Baby ! Oh my God

She's completely fine , how will she have a seizure for goodness sake

George; (standing behind Emily with his hands folded to his chest)

I don't know she said some strange things

Emily; ( turns to face George )

What strange things ?

George ; Something about large eyes, and children .

Emily; (sighs worriedly)

Children with the large eyes ! Remember her dream the other day , the one where she jumps into her body

George ; Yes ,.what about it ?

Emily; She did say she was being chased by them , what if she saw them again, and couldn't handle the fear

George ; Whatever that was , she's doing better now.... I just need you to pay more attention to our daughter and stop going off leaving her all by herself.

Emily; Tiwa is twelve , and the estate is supposedly safe .... surely I can get a walk ....

(she says glaring at George who looks really furious)

George; You were gone , for hours . where were you Emily ?

Emily; At the library . and strangely enough I got locked in , thank God for Rachel , the florist, she rescued me from that scary scene . The door suddenly shut on me and the lights began to flicker , the books pages flipped themselves open

(As she narrates this, George leaves the room without any interest in her ordeal, Emily follows him downstairs)

You will not listen to me , George ?

George ; What now ? So why while our baby had a seizure in the house and almost died, you were having a phenomenal moment in the library?.

( he sits on the couch angrily, opens the tv )

Emily; ( stands in front of him)

I don't even know what to say anymore . Think whatever you want, there's no point talking to you!

(Emily hears music and people sounds from outside and she watches through the window, the streetlights are bright as usual and Dora's apartment block seems to be buzzing as people rally up for the dinner , as she watches , George puts on a jacket behind her and opens the door, she watches him in silence and let him leave , just before he steps out of the house he says

"You stay and watch Tiwa , I'll go. One of us has to "

George closes the door and walks towards Dora's apartment block, then Glory yells, struggling in her heels as she runs to George ,

"Doctor ! , Mr Bello,.wait up !

She meets up with him , and they both walk to the dinner venue together , Creepy Mary leaving her house to go, Emily continues to watch the outside from her window, then she returns to Tiwa's room..

After a while , Emily is fast asleep by Tiwa's side , then a heavy knock from the door downstairs throws Emily back into consciousness, She hurries downstairs and opens the door, it's George , drunk from the dinner party....

Emily grabs him and tries to bring him inside, but he keeps tripping and falling as he is too huge for only her to carry , she calls to him severally but he won't come to , and eventually falls on her , as Emily struggles to pull George in to the house , Emily notices a figure standing just a few yards from her , it creeps closer and closer , a ghost, it's gives off weird laughs and says ,

"Can't keep your husband in this time?"

as it nears Emily's porch , Emily hurries to bring George in so she could lock the door, panicking, then suddenly, George lifts his right hand and swings it, a light emmits from the ring on his finger , and lands on the ghost throwing it off . Emily eventually pulls George In and shuts the door , Panting .....)
