28 RealitySure enough, Jonah stepped into his room. It was pretty much the way he'd left it. It was so late; the clock read 4:48 A.M. But he didn't go to bed, though. He was wide awake. Instant grief descended on him, and before he knew it, hot tears fell down his face. “I'm sorry, Mr. Steverson.” The guilt was heavier than a barbell. “I'm so sorry. Wherever you are, please forgive me—” His voice caught. He didn't deserve forgiveness. He was the one who had failed.
