LockedJonah was grateful for the change of pace the S.T.R. provided. He never tired of Mr. Steverson's stories, Harland's presence, or Amanda continuously bringing her son to the bookstore to ask Mr. Steverson for pointers. He spent many lunches in the break room, poring over early editions of certain books, some of which Mr. Steverson simply gave him. The man wouldn't allow Jonah to pay for anything, which was generous and annoying at the same time. He was careful not to abuse that privilege, but he completely ignored it one day when he found a copy of Time Games in a box on the second level. He took advantage of Mr. Steverson's kindness in letting him keep it, and then dumped it into a barrel of weeks-old stagnant water. No one was experiencing that crap again. Not on his watch.
