15 The Power of DoubtJonah didn't think the summer would ever come to an end. He actually didn't care that much for the summer months anyway, despite being a summer child. The hot months were for the teeny boppers, ne'er do wells, kids, and families on beach trips. He hadn't ever really gone through devil-may-care experiences, so he couldn't miss something he'd never had. But the thing he disliked the most about the summer was the thing that everybody else adored: the heat. He couldn't think clearly in thick, soupy warmth. His thoughts just didn't come together the way they needed to when it was hot. That had been a recurring theme throughout his life. But this particular summer had just sucked.
