“Maybe your dad was right in the first place,” Rick said. “Now that he’s shared the information about the loan shark contacting him after the kidnapping, it seems more likely that Patty’s killer was a hit man.”
“Then what about Marie’s pin? What about the woman who was involved?”
Brian said, “Have you had any further flashbacks? Maybe those will give you a clue.”
“We don’t have to wait for flashbacks.”
“What do you mean, Rick?” I could see he had something on his mind.
“I have the address of Pine Oaks, the facility where Michael Mason is staying. It’s not far from L.A. We could visit him and ask some questions.”
“But you just said he’s in the advanced stages of Alzheimer’s.”
“Alzheimer’s patients are lucid sometimes, especially with long-term memories.”
