Julia said nothing as we drove in silence to Jack’s pack. After everything that had happened the last couple of days, Justin wasn’t in the mood to deal with any of this. He felt like he had taken a step back into his younger teenage years where he rebelled and acted childishly. When he turned onto the dirt road, he could actually feel Julia’s attitude shift.
“Don’t worry,” he muttered sarcastically. Julia snickered but didn’t reply. It didn’t take long after that and he was driving past the gate and pulling up alongside Jack’s truck.
“Welcome,” Jack called out as he came down the steps to greet them. Justin didn’t bother going around to the other side as Jack was already there to help Julia.
