Lord Maximus's POV I was seated in front of the council of chiefs with Lillian on my lap. She kept playing with my hair, lost in her own world. “Should we go to war with them?” one of my chiefs asked. “No, we shouldn't. That would be risky and not worth it,” another replied. “If we sit back and relax, they will think we are weak and scared of them,” another one argued. They kept talking and started shouting at each other, causing me to frown in anger and raise my left hand. Immediately, the hall fell silent like a graveyard.
