Chapter 31

1903 Words

The tension within Blood Moon Park had been palpable for days. Steve could feel it, like an electric charge in the air, unsettling his pack and making even the most routine interactions fraught with unspoken anxieties. The Festival of Blood had always been a time of heightened emotions, but this year, the stakes felt impossibly higher. Steve paced in his office, the heavy wooden desk between him and the door offering no real sense of security. His mind was preoccupied, spinning with thoughts of Aria and the dangerous game they were playing. They had managed to keep their bond a secret for now, but Steve knew it was only a matter of time before someone put the pieces together. A knock on the door interrupted his thoughts. He straightened, composing himself before calling out, “Come in.”
