The following day, Caleb’s resolve was firm as he prepared for the discussion with Aria. He had always valued honesty and directness, but the growing sense of unease about their upcoming betrothal had made him increasingly anxious. The ceremony was intended to unite the packs, but Caleb feared that proceeding without addressing the issues could lead to greater discord. That afternoon, Caleb sought out Aria to arrange the meeting. He found her in the gardens again, tending to the flowers. This time, her movements seemed more purposeful, but there was still a distant look in her eyes. Caleb approached with a determined stride, his demeanor serious but respectful. “Aria,” he said, his voice steady, “I’d like to have a more in-depth discussion about our betrothal. Can we meet this evening?”
