Chapter 14-1

385 Words

Chapter 14 Cody felt completely useless. He hated losing control like that. Someone was after him and his friends, but he couldn’t do a thing to help. He was pathetic. Whenever the world spun out of control, he had to fight the urge to leave it. But that’s why he had his medication and his therapy. Hayden seemed perfectly content with not having a job assignment, but Cody wanted to do something. He didn’t know what, just something. All he could think of to do was gather his bed sheets and throw them in the trash. He couldn’t stand to think of ever sleeping in those sheets after Page’s corpse had lied on them. It made his skin crawl just holding them bunched up in his arms as he carried them downstairs, where his mom stopped him. “Please tell me the god of laundry struck you,” she said.
