Chapter 5 Be Threatened

After going through the events of the day, Daisy returned home and just wanted to take a hot bath and then have a good sleep.

Just as she went out of the bathroom, she heard someone ringing the doorbell.

"Who is it?"

The person outside deliberately lowered his voice and replied, "Your package has arrived."

Daisy thought to herself that she hadn't bought anything recently, it might be Bette's purchase as she was away on a business trip these days, so she decided to accept it on her behalf.

She told the courier at the door, "Just leave it by the door."

After hearing the footsteps of the person leaving, Daisy finally felt relieved and opened the door.

Unexpectedly, a pair of hands suddenly yanked the door open and grabbed Daisy, carrying her into the room.

In the light of the room, Daisy then recognized that it was Lucas who had harassed her during the day.

She thought that he must have used some means to find out her address from the company.

"What do you want to do? Breaking into someone's home is a crime."

Lucas seemed to find it hilarious and said, "Do you think I'm afraid? All I want to do today is have s*x with you."

As he spoke, his eyes fixed on her chest, not hiding his intentions at all.

Daisy had changed into a silky ice-fiber sleepwear before going to bed. The neckline was quite low, revealing her perfect curves.

Lucas suddenly felt a surge of heat in his body, which clouded his senses, and he pushed Daisy onto the bed.

Daisy's sexy and alluring figure was enough to make anyone's blood boil with just one glance.

"I'll give you a million. Let me sleep with you tonight," he said.

Daisy was so scared that she trembled all over and desperately pushed against his chest with both hands to keep him away.

"Get away! I'm not a prostitute!"

She had just broken up with Lino and escaped the label of being someone's mistress, but it was ironic that someone would try to buy her with money so soon.

"Five million," he offered.

"Even if you give me a hundred million, I won't agree. You should let me go, or I'll call the police!"

"Call them. The police chief of X City is my uncle. See who dares to arrest me!"

Lucas showed no fear and continued to kiss her face indiscriminately.

Daisy resisted fiercely but was still overpowered by him. Realizing the situation was getting out of control, Daisy burst into tears.

Lucas, regardless of her reaction, forcefully removed her nightgown, and then proceeded to pull off Daisy's underwear.

In a moment of desperation, Daisy bit Lucas's ear, causing blood to flow down his neck. Enraged, Lucas slapped Daisy.

He then tore off his own tie, and bound Daisy's hands with it, rendering her immobile.

Daisy wished she could kill him, "Lucas, if you dare to force yourself on me today, I will sue you tomorrow!"

His hand paused, unable to resist a sneer, "I'm not even afraid of the police, why would I fear being sued by you?"

Gradually regaining her composure, Daisy knew she couldn't confront him directly so she had to learn to deal with him diplomatically.

"Given my position in the Terra Group, I am well aware of the details of the project you are funding for our company. Sebo Corporation may lead in the construction industry, but imagine if I were to expose that the materials you use do not meet national standards. Can you guess the consequences? If you dare to act recklessly, I will make the evidence public through the media, and your company will face ruin."

Lucas coldly chuckled, "How do I know you're not just stalling to deceive me?"

"The evidence is on my USB drive, but I left it at the office. Even if you get the USB drive, it's useless as I have many other backups. If you doubt my words, there is a recording on my phone that will confirm whether I'm lying to you."

In reality, Daisy lacked direct evidence to prove that Sebo was involved in using substandard materials; she stumbled upon this information accidentally.

During one of her visits to a construction site under Sebo's name, a subcontractor saw that Daisy was good-looking and was impressed by Daisy's kindness in buying water for all the workers on a hot day, shared some internal information with her.

Inadvertently, this worker let slip the secret.

Lucas stood up, taking Daisy's phone and playing the recording, which indeed contained the conversation, although the voices were altered, making it impossible for Lucas to identify him.

Completely panicked, Lucas grabbed Daisy's neck, coercing her to hand over the evidence.

With her face turning red from being choked, Daisy could only muster a weak voice, "I will give you the evidence, but you have to promise to let me go."

"As long as you obediently provide the evidence, I guarantee you will never see me again. You only have one day; after that, I must receive all backups."

With that, Lucas straightened his clothes, walked towards the door, and just as he was leaving, he turned to Daisy and said, "By the way, your best friend's name is Bette, right?"

"What do you want to do?" Daisy asked angrily.

"Nothing much. Just a reminder. If you lie to me, you'll bear the consequences," he said before striding out.

Daisy's face stiffened. Lucas was threatening her with Bette.

She had planned to stall for time and, if necessary, leave X City with Bette. Now that Lucas knew about Bette, leaving the city overnight wouldn't be so easy.

Thinking about this, Daisy's mind flashed back to Lino's image.

If he knew she was being bullied by such a pervert, what would his reaction be?

Would he be angry? Would he be jealous? Would he...

She imagined his countless emotions, but a voice in her head told her he wouldn't.
