Chapter 9 The front door opened, then slammed closed. Sam’s legs shook as he stood, and he stared at his hand, transfixed by the tremor. “Samuel!” Dean rushed in the room, and gripped Sam’s shoulders. “What the hell are you doing here?” Sam fixed his gaze to Dean’s fluorescent jacket. The times before when he’d seen Dean in the morning, he wore jeans and a T-shirt, but the shimmering yellow jacket reminded him of the paramedics rushing into his living room. “Why are you still wearing your uniform?” “What?” Dean said breathlessly, then glanced down at himself. “I drove straight here, didn’t shower and change like normal.
