Chapter 2 Sam used the small amount he had saved to pay for online courses. The advert gushed it was so much easier to work from the comfort of your own home, but Sam disagreed. Seated on the bottom bunk of his bed, he struggled to concentrate with his sister, Lucy, hanging upside down next to him. Lucy stuck her tongue out when Sam glared at her, and when he tried to usher her from the room, she pouted and declared it was as much her house as it was his. “What you reading?” she said, attempting to tear the book away. “A book.” “You sure you can read?” “No, I’m just staring at it for affect.” Lucy snorted, and stuck her chin out. “Well, that’s a bit silly.” “You’re silly.” “Am not.” Sam snapped the book shut and left the bedroom.
