I giggle. “I like her already.”
“She’ll love you.”
Again with the words falling out of his mouth making it sound like he’ll want me around! I’m going to fall so hard and fast if he keeps this up. And the sound of my heart breaking, if he changes his mind, will be heard all over the world. But I shake off that thought.

My parents hated her, but I didn’t let them bully me into stopping hanging out with her even though they tried.
