CHAPTER FIFTY-TWO “Welcome,” said Eric at the podium. “Thank you for coming to remember my friend Juan.” Eric almost choked when he mentioned his friend. Linda couldn’t get over the dashing Eric in the dark suit, with his short new hairstyle. She felt that her black, lace dress and pearls might look washed out next to his elegant, commanding presence. The community church held nearly fifty people who knew Juan from the military, or from his old neighborhood. Two posters stood on the altar.
