That evening, when Eric returned home, Linda had made dinner and set the table. “I felt domesticated today. After all my wild adventures, it felt good to be in a kitchen.”
“I thought you went to work today.”
“I did, but they were so shocked about everything, that the manager sent me home early. Seems they gave my accounts to someone else. I figured something like that would happen.” She shrugged. “No worries, it’s only natural. Judging by the all-around hug-fest, they were happy to see me. Said they’ll think of something for me to do. I mean if it doesn’t work out, there are other places, right?”
He wrapped his arms around her waist. “Whatever you’re making smells good.”
“Oh, it won’t be ready for another hour.” She took off his glasses and gave him a kiss.”
