7 Twins

1235 Words
Rubbing her sore eyes, Vivian tried to ask the passersby for help. She was hit by a group of punk girls from wealthy families first. Then she failed to call someone to help her. The onlookers all pitied her a lot. "Miss, I have a car. Let me ride you to a hospital," one passerby said. Vivian was sent to a hospital nearby. Before dealing with her wounds, she went to have an overall checkup. The doctor confirmed that she had been pregnant. "Congratulations, Ms. Chapman. You've been pregnant for seven weeks. Twins. Quite healthy." Vivian had to admit they were healthy. Joyce's t*****e of her didn't harm them at all. She was delighted, feeling bitter at the same time, though. No matter how healthy they were, she didn't think she could give birth to them. She had broken off the relationship with Nicholas. Would he accept her children? Seeing her hesitant, the doctor asked with a frown, "Don't you want them?" Disappointment appeared on her pale face. "My babies' father has dumped me." The doctor was taken aback. Her tone softened. "I paid attention when checking up on you earlier. You have some health issues, and you are injured. I can't let you have the abortion. If you insist on doing it now, it'll damage your health. In the worst-case scenario, it might cause you to be infertile in the future. You'd better think twice during your recovery." Infertile? I can't have children anymore? Bowing her head, Vivian stroked her lower abdomen in frustration. She was wealthy now, so she could raise two children by herself. However, she was only 19 and still had a long life. She wondered if it was worth betting everything she had for a man who never loved her. Vivian couldn't make up her mind and was worried about her babies, so she didn't take any medicine. After her wounds were dealt with, she left. Much to her surprise, she encountered Nicholas in the elevator. He entered the elevator on the fourth floor, where the department of gynecology and obstetrics was. He was with a woman, standing next to her protectively to avoid others bumping into her. Vivian had never seen him so careful and gentle before. She clenched her fingers, her eyes red. He's become a father. Less than twenty days after calling off our engagement, his girlfriend has been pregnant. Vivian didn't think Nicholas would look forward to her babies as his girlfriend would give birth to his baby. After being taken aback for a moment, she bowed her head, trying her best not to be seen by Nicholas. However, he still noticed her, gazing at her across the crowd intensely. Then he stared at the most evident bruise on her cheek and asked, "What happened?" Didn't you cause it to happen? How dare you ask me what happened! Vivian almost burst into laughter but held back timidly. She had never been herself in this man's presence. Even if she wanted to cry or laugh, she needed his approval. "Nothing," She shook her head, pretending to be calm or not see him with another woman. She only wished to run away from them as soon as the elevator arrived downstairs. However, Nicholas reached his arm to grip her, dragging her closer. "I asked what had happened," His slender fingers pointed at her cheek, his tone aggressive and arrogant. Vivian wasn't one of the Moore family anymore, so she could retort Joyce. Similarly, she could ignore Nicholas. Seeing the woman clinging to him seamlessly, Vivian only felt that every pore on the woman's pretty face was mocking her for flattering herself and how stupid, ignorant she had been. "None of..." As soon as her lips parted, Vivian almost vomited. She covered her mouth and retched. Nicholas' expression changed instantly. "What do you mean?" "I..." Her stomach turned again. Only then did Vivian realize that she wasn't sickened by Nicholas and his girlfriend but suffered from morning sickness. This was the first time she had it, so she was inexperienced. The sickness attached her so fiercely that she couldn't hold it back. Soon, her pale face was covered with sweat. In pain, she covered her cramped belly and squatted. She kept vomiting until she could only retch in the end. "Is that your answer?" Nicholas' face turned livid. The disgust that Vivian was familiar with was evident on his face. "You can speak properly if you want. Or you'd better shush." He was too heartless, even the passengers in the elevator couldn't tolerate him. "Haven't you seen how much she suffers? Why do you insist on asking her to answer your questions? Why are you pushing her?" "If you truly care about her, you should send her home or take her to a doctor." "I don't think you care about her. After all, you're with another woman. How can you have the energy to do that?" The last passenger's words were full of irony. They had seen through the situation. In his life, Nicholas had never been humiliated like this. He was furious and embarrassed. Some passengers patted Vivian and consoled her. She gradually felt much better. A kind-hearted one passed a bottle of water to her, so she could rinse her mouth. Although her face paled, her eyes were spirited. "Nicholas Moore," Vivian gazed at him intensely and calmly without complaints or sorrow. "Since our engagement has been called off, and you'll be a father soon, please stop minding my business. We're strangers now. Even if we come across again, we should not greet or talk to each other. Isn't it what we're supposed to do?" She looked solemn while speaking those words from the bottom of her heart. In the past 19 years, she had been used to following him humbly and being obedient to him. Nicholas had never thought she could be so sharp-tongued. His mood changed, which was pretty rare. Gritting his teeth, he bit out, "You've become so bold after having the money, huh? Bravo, Vivian Chapman! If it wasn't Grandpa still thinking about you before he passed away, think I'm willing to mind your business, huh?" Right then, the elevator arrived on the first floor. Holding Cynthia to his side, Nicholas stormed away in anger. Watching him leave ruthlessly, Vivian had an urge to laugh somehow. He is angry again? For what? He thinks he can disdain me, but I cannot fight back? Vivian mocked him as she was pissed, which couldn't compare to what he had done to her. Although she said those words and tried to be calm, she still cared about him. After all, Vivian had admired Nicholas for 19 years. She couldn't stop thinking about him all of a sudden. It took time for her to forget him. Vivian sucked in her breath and made up her mind. Why should I consider what I should do without you? You are not essential to my life, are you? I'm wealthy now. Can't I raise two children? I'm still young. Why would I take the risk of being impotent to give birth because of you? Vivian had decided to give birth to the twins and moved abroad. Then no one could meddle in her business anymore. As for Nicholas, he should marry his beloved woman and raise their child. Vivian didn't think she would need him or think about him again.
