The Clean up

By the time I reached cafe rouge, I knew I had about an hour before I got a call to get down to the station. I had to work fast...  I crept around the back alleyway to use the discreet entrance to the club, I made no sound as my trainers squelched against the wet floor. When I reached the entrance the door was ajar, I pulled out my Glock 21 and used it to opened the door wider.  I quickly threw off my hoodie and track pants revealing a midi length black dress. I then trainers and swapped them out for a pair of knee high heeled boots stashing my gun tightly inside. I stashed my clothes next to the dumpster outside. My hair still hadn’t been cut so it was super long, I quickly tied it up into a long sleek pony tail on top of my head- Ariana grande style; I then entered the club for super naturals, taking in everything around me and trying to blend in as much as I could.  I was invisible, nobody even looked twice at me which was perfect as I couldn’t afford distractions right now. I made my way into the main room of the club, the smell was repulsive... the one downside to being a werewolf was the fact I had super smell.   Sweat, stale alcohol and sticky floors.    The dance floor was packed full of various creatures from the supernatural underworld, they were all squished together in the clubs main circle like a heard of sheep completely unaware of what had gone on upstairs... My brothers main business was drugs. But not just any drugs, supernatural drugs. Your typical human drugs like cocaine and heroin barley had an effect on us, were just not built that way.  But over time we discovered new experimental ways to get high. most of these drugs are made and manufactured by various covens around the globe, sold at a high price for the best territories and of course the thing that makes the world spin around- cold hard cash.  This place was one of my brothers many fronts, they would pump money into here to make it clean leaving authorities baffled by them. It was also a hot spot for super natural creatures, here we could mix with each other and express our true forms without being worried about humans catching us. We were free here.  Aaaannd of course its the perfect place to market your number one selling product on the black market... “When can we go and have some fun” my wolf whined I’m the back of my head  “You don’t even like dancing..” I retorted  “But this looks like fun!”  I mentally rolled my eyes at her and tried to carry on with my mission.  I walked around the circle towards the metal spiral staircase leading up to the VIP area when a familiar scent hit my nose... demon blood.  When I reached the top of the stairs, I saw that the area was completely unguarded and surrounded by a deep red velvet curtain shielding the innocent from the horrors that lay behind. I pulled back the curtain cautiously and slipped in, closing it immediately behind me. I turned around on the spot, my senses going into over drive as the intoxicating copper smell filled my nostrils, only to find Donavon sitting on the leather couch, cigar and drink in hand surrounded by about 15 body’s.  “What the f**k are you still doing here Don?!” I said surprised. “I haven’t left yet, I didn’t think you’d be here this soon” he replied robotically. “Did you do this?” I questioned, gesturing towards the mutilated bodies scattering the floor around him. “We were having a meeting about territories they were new in town, and the leader Vince looked at me funny. They tried to fight me but I am the alpha after all. I took all of them without even blinking.” A smirk crossed his lips as he took a swig of his whiskey. “So, you shot them and then mutilated their bodies?” I asked in horror. I was used to Donovan lashing out for no reason and being the one to clean it up but this s**t was by far the worst I’d seen.  He looked up at me, his eyes turning a dangerous amber, His wolf had clearly got the better of him on this one.  “You know, Andy we don’t pay you to be judgmental. We pay you to clean up and stop the cases mounting up against us, but if you carry on questioning me I won’t hesitate to make sure you end up like these guys.” His voice was soft the entire time he spoke, which I knew meant he was about to snap. Rather than argue I lowered my eyes to show him I submit.  “There’s a good girl!” His stony face forming a menacing smile.  “Now I don’t know where all the cases are so have fun with that, make sure to use the trap door entrance you’ve already drawn enough attention to yourself with that ridiculous outfit. You’re hear your work not to get laid.” Without another word he disappeared behind the curtain, when I heard his footsteps reaching the bottom step of the metal stairs I let out a heavy breath not realising I’d been holding it in the entire time.    “There’s something not right, I think his wolf is taking over his body” said Akielah, sounding as frightened as I was.  “He’s always scared me, ever since I was a child. I just brushed it off but this is something bad. He’s going to get caught if he keeps massacring these groups” I replied.  “Let’s clean up here then go see Sal he will know what to do.” Just as my wolf finished talking the sound of gunshots and screams filled the air, the repetitive techno beat grinding to an every halt.   “s**t” I said to myself.  I pulled out my gun from my boot and peered around the curtain only to see the once happy swarm of creatures were now running in various directions trying to find the exit. I could smell the panic and fear flowing from them. I tried to mind link with Donavon but I had no such luck, he’d obviously left the building.    Tonight is not my night...
