“I need to go to Fenrisgard today,” Kael said to Harry when Elara and Brenda left them in the dining room alone.
Harry pushed his plates away from him, the cutlery clinking together as they rolled against the table. He was full but his eyes were on the berry juice. “Why?” He asked as he wiped his mouth and hands with the napkin. “Is there someone you need to collect again?” He chuckled lightly
Kael shook his head. “No, I need to go and check out some things. Just see how everything over there works and make sure I am not making a mistake.”
“Mistake about what? Heavens, Kael,” Harry pushed up from his seat. “If this is about that slave again…”
“Then what?” Kael looked up at him, his eyes daring him to complete the statement. Harry chewed on his teeth and sat back down. “I rule over that pack too, remember? And I can travel down there whenever I want. There is an Alpha from their pack ruling over them now but that doesn’t take away my responsibilities over them.”
“All I am just saying is, if it is concerning the slave, there are a lot of ways we can tackle the issue bothering you. I already know you don’t like it but first, we kill her. Whatever false scent she has used on you will die off with her. Secondly, we torture her till he admits to what she has done and then we kill her.”
“So, you mean to tell me that there is no use for me taking a chosen mate because so long as Elara is alive, I would be connected to her and will not have time for my wife; my mate and your Luna?” Kael’s brow was raised.
“I—It’s comp—” Harry stuttered.
Kael shook his head as he lifted his glass and downed the remainder of his juice in one go. He stood up from his chair and began walking up to his room. “Get the cars ready, we are going to the training ground today.”
Immediately Kael got to the safety of his room, he banged the door behind him and slumped against it, pressing his temples together. A sharp pain was coursing through his head, like a thousand needles poking against his skull. He squeezed his eyes shut and slowly slid down the door till his butt touched the carpeted floor.
With his hands still holding his head, he took in quick deep breaths and exhaled trying to manage the pain but the sting of the needle increased. Getting up from the floor, he quickly rushed to his drawer, took out pain pills, popped them in his mouth and swallowed them down immediately.
Kael felt his head swell up as his eyes began turning and he grew dizzy. He staggered forward but managed to hold onto the drawer to keep him from falling. He squeezed his eyes shut and shook his head slightly to regulate himself but his vision turned impaired as he opened his eyes.
“What the f**k is going on?” His chest suddenly grew tight, like a screwdriver had been used on it. He let go of the drawer as he clutched his chest and staggered backwards.
His breath came out short and rushed.
His visions still blurry.
It was his first time experiencing such pain throughout his entire existence. He couldn’t explain the pain, it was overwhelming and new and dismembering yet very strange.
“Harry,” He tried to call out but his voice came out hoarse and very low. With former knowledge, he managed to stagger towards his door and as he grabbed his doorknob, a sharp pain ran from his head down to his chest and along his spine. The pain stiffened him, his eyes rolled behind his head and he fell to the floor like a log of wood.

The morning breeze blew softly against Elara’s hair as she walked through the large compound alongside Brenda and one of the maids she met in the morning; Kathy, as they showed her around and told her the basic things she was to know.
She had an ice pop in hand. Brenda had forced her to eat that but not before forcing her to finish a mug of warm water -which was mostly hot- in case of any traces of cold.
“So you didn’t know your parents were stealing all those things?” Kathy asked. She had told them how she came about and all what happened that night but was careful enough not to mention anything about Sean. She wasn’t sure how she would tell people from the strongest pack that she was on omega and a wolfless one at that.
It didn’t matter that they were maids, they were stronger than her. She was certain.
“That’s a pity, child. I cannot remember the last time we had a slave here. The last time we had one, they died during the fire.
Suddenly, a static noise scratched against Elara’s head. The ice pop fell out of her hand as she stopped on her tracks and pressed her palms against her ears but the more she pressed them, the louder the sound came.
It was as though the noise was erupting from inside her. Kathy and Brenda exchanged glances and rushed to her.
“Child, are you okay?”
“Elara, what is happening? Are you okay?” They asked as they shook her but static noise was all she could hear.
The sound grew louder and she squeezed her eyes shut and hunched over as she shook her head. And then just as the sound came, it vanished and everywhere went silent.
“Are you okay, Elara?” Kathy asked as ale stood up straight.
Everywhere was dark when Elara opened her eyes. Pitch black. No sign of light. Like she was trapped in a box locked inside another box. Shaking her head again, she blinked and everything came to vision.
She darted her eyes between Kathy and Brenda. “I used to have this really bad ear infection that would leave me bedridden for days. It has not happened in a long time, I thinks it’s everything that happened these past few days that triggered it.”
“Oh, that is awful.” Kathy said, gently stroking Elara’s cheek while Brenda kept quiet, her face stern as she watched Elara. “Are you okay now? Is the pain still there?”
She shook her head. “It’s faint but nothing too serious.”
Brenda bent over, picked up the ice pop and handed it to Elara and Elara took it with a confused look. “You are Alpha Kael’s personal slave which means you will have to be near and available to serve him at all times. You will care for his needs without a single complaint from you and I don’t want him complaining about you either. Is that well understood?
Elara uncertainly but slowly nodded her head.
“Toss that in the waste bin on your way back.”
