A chilling wave of fear ran down Elara’s spine on her way back to the house. She had never felt that type of pain before, the only time she felt something remotely close to that was on her 18th birthday, when she waited for her wolf but it never came. She had stood in the corner of the room -as every other person got their wolves- a sharp pain running throughout her body before the pain overpowered her and she passed out. When she woke up, she remained there on the floor waiting and hoping. It wasn’t until the moon disappeared and the sun was beginning to rise that she realized that she wasn’t getting her wolf. She then went back to her room and cried till she was out of breath. Now at twenty-four, six years later after that incident, Elara never expected she would ever feel that pain again. But she had today, only it was different. While the pain on her 18th birthday pinched every part of her body, the pain today attacked on her head and ears as though it was trying to burn a part of her brain. The house was quiet when she entered the building. The dining table was free of the dishes and wiped clean with Kael and Harry nowhere in sight. Huffing out a breath, she made her way up the stairs. She stood at the top of the stairs when she got there and darted her eyes between her room and Kael’s room while contemplating going into the room. She didn’t know why but she wanted to find something, anything that would rid her of Kael, that would help her reclaim her identity as a person and not remain a slave for long. She had promised to serve Kael without complaints but she had only said that to save her head and she would continue saving her head till she was either out of option or she was free. Squaring her shoulders, her legs began moving to Kael’s room. She held the doorknob and pushed the door open. The door opened ajar but was stopped by something behind it, it then pulled forward and closed. Elara opened it again and it did the same thing. Just as it was about to close, she held the doorknob, pushed the door back and slid inside the room. “Bloody heavens!” Elara rushed to Kael on the floor. “Alpha Kael? Alpha?” She called as she pulled him into her arms, shaking him rigorously. “Are you dead?” Kael grunted softly. It wasn’t a verbal response to her question but Elara would take that. He was alive, semi conscious and that was okay. His breath, though, was deep yet very short. He tried to open his eyes but they wouldn’t move. Elara noticed that his squeezed shut eyes were red rimmed like he had spent the past few minutes bawling his eyes out. But Kael had no reason to cry, she was certain. Not to such an extent, at least. “Open your eyes, Alpha Kael. Please.” She tapped his face lightly. Kael grunted softly in her arms, he then dragged in a deep breath, “Masami,” he muttered. “It is Elara but I can go get him if you want me to. Or her, I don’t know.” Her palm was still tapping Kael’s face. “Masami, fight.” Kael sucked in a deeper breath as his eyes fluttered open and met Elara’s eyes looking down at him. Their eyes stayed fixed on each other before the corner of Kael’s lips slowly curved up in a small smile. “What’s funny?” Kael cuddled deeper in Elara’s arms, ignoring her questions, the smirk still on his face and their faces inches apart. “Did you do it?” “Do what?” “I can see it in your eyes, you want to do it.” “Did you lose your senses during whatever thing that happened to you?” “Do it?” “You are insane.” Elara tried to shove Kael away but he wouldn’t move. “Elara.” She sucked in a deep breath and exhaled against Kael’s face. With his elbows, he propped his body upwards, bringing their faces closer. Elara felt his breath on her face as he traced the outline of her lips with the tip of his nose. His hair brushed against her face. His stubble sent tingling sensations down her body and between her legs. “What did you do to me?” He whispered against her lips. He now had his forehead pressed against hers. He sucked in a deep breath seeking for that scent he perceived that other day and earlier this morning but all he had was the scent of the soap she bathed with. “I don’t know what you are talking about.” Her voice was shallower. Kael scoffed. “My wolf has been fighting me since you came here.” “Masami?” “Hmm,” Kael hummed. “Maybe he doesn’t like you keeping me here. Maybe he is telling you to let me go.” With one hand, Kael tore off the scarf around Elara’s neck. He leaned backwards and observed the bruising on her neck. “Do I need to mark you more before it becomes clear to you that you are my property? And that I will own you till you die?” “And yet you are the one coming back to life in my arms.” Elara countered. Kael chuckled lightly and with skilled movement, he pushed off the ground while flipping Elara over till her back was flat against the ground. He placed his knees on both sides of her body, trapping her between his legs and pinned her arms above her head with one hand. “You were saying?” “I should have let you die.” “I am not so easy to kill.” With his free hand, Kael grabbed her jaw and exposed her neck. He lapped his tongue up the length of her neck then found a spot on her jaw and sucked on. Elara groaned softly as she melted underneath Kael. The pressure between her legs was not helping matters. She was sure Kael would leave a bruise on her face but she didn't care. She wanted more. She knew she wanted more but she wasn’t sure how to ask. Not from Kael, at least. Elara moaned loudly as Kael dropped his weight on her with his d**k pressed against her stomach. He was hard, she could feel it on her body. “Kael,” she began to say but a loud knock came on the door cutting her shut. “Alpha Kael?” The pounding on the door came again. It was Harry. “Dude, What's keeping you? I have been waiting by the car for you.” Kael finally lifted his face off Elara without moving his body. Elara flushed underneath him when he looked down at her with hooded, hazy and lust filled eyes. “The next time you have the opportunity to kiss me, Elara, do it. The way you prefer. Because I wouldn’t consider you when I take my chance.”
