Lindsay was sitting at her desk, reviewing the previous shifts' reports, when she heard the door chime. She looked up to see John Lingerfelt stepping in and Cat immediately moving toward him to help him. Lindsay stood from her desk and began to walk to the front, and as she did, she saw a broad smile come across his face as he spoke with Cat. When she was closer, Lindsay could hear Cat speaking in flawless German to him and understood the smile on his face.
“Lindsay, my dear, how are you this cold morning?” John asked her cheerfully.
“I’m fine, John. This is a surprise. What brings you by?” Lindsay asked him as she smiled. She could not help it. John’s happiness always seemed to be contagious.
“I would like to speak with you and find out how you are doing if you don’t mind,” he said.
