Waving at Joe Riley, the shift security supervisor, she walked to the bank of elevators and used her key to access the penthouse. Her father’s employees were loyal; the most junior employee had been with him eight years. The sense of family gave her the extra boost of confidence she needed. As the doors slid open silently, she stepped from the elevator, which faced a breathtaking view of the Pacific Ocean through the floor-to-ceiling windows that were the signature of the executive level.
