Chapter 16 As the days turned into months, Cam changed his schedule so that he rarely if ever was at home during school hours. He believed he’d been successful in resolving the sense of displacement he felt in her presence. Still, his desire to see her plagued him; so he resumed his place in the window to watch. To his alarm, he noticed a change in her that was disquieting. There was a marked difference in the rapport between mother and daughter as they walked to and from school.
