CHAPTER 27 A cacophony of sound abruptly drowned out the low purr of the engine. The car came to a stop, and the moment Sterling shut off the engine, a wave of noise and color washed over them: the cheerful, tinny music of a merry-go-round, the distant shouts from a roller coaster, and a riot of neon lights painting the night sky in brilliant, dizzying hues.
