While Amelia was microwaving her dinner, a sudden “Hi!” from a voice behind her made her flinch.
Startled, Amelia spun around to find a girl in a pink bunny onesie smiling brightly at her. “You must be the other female renter that Linda told me about,” the girl said cheerfully.
Before Amelia could get a word out, the girl cut her off. “I’m Chloe! Chloe Davis,” she added, extending a hand.
Amelia, a bit overwhelmed by the interruption, forced a smile and accepted the handshake. “I’m Amelia…”
