You don’t touch the book and the pen and you don’t go messing about with things. Do we understand each other?” He nodded in agreement. But I still would not hold my breath over his promise as I knew his changing nature: ”That’s not enough! Swear by it!” Hand on heart, he said: ”Cross my heart and hope to die!” firmly looking me in the eyes. ”That’s better! Now if you want to stay under the bed, you are welcome to do so.
