* Watching outside through the bars, I couldn’t help noticing the timid glow of the stars inching in. Those cursed bars! They would have plucked the stars out of the sky if they could! They would scavenge on everything out there privileged enough to enjoy freedom! They would have trapped them in the rusty grate and parade them aorund as if a thanksgiving offering on a special occasion – the feast of the fates – who assigned them as the lady Suffering’s loyal servants, while the lady herself had been vowed to assist with bringing the Good into this world, like a good midwife would do. I sighed deeply. That allowed me free access to shuffling, unrestrained, through the pages of the meaningful memories in my consciousness.
