1580 Words
~Margaret~ I arrived at the restaurant where the date should be and I was stunned. The restaurant that Elli booked was one of the famous five stars restaurants in this place; even buying a coffee here costs a fortune. My best friend overdone it this time, is my date like some rich person or something? And my thoughts just went straight to him again. I shake my head and breath and telling myself to stop thinking about him. I walked out of my car and start heading to the restaurant. As I was about to enter, a lovely receptionist ask me if I have booked a table. I nod at her and told he it under the name of Eliana Taylor. The receptionist typed the name in the computer in front of her and to my surprise she said that there is n booking under that name. I was shocked and I could feel my eyes were narrowed like saucers, I asked her again but the receptionist said there is no one in that name that booked. I let out a frustrated sigh, and was annoyed at Elli, was she pranking me or something? Urgh! As I was about to take my phone in my bag and started to think of any profanity words to yell at her a thought suddenly popped out on my mind. “What about Margaret Summers? Is there a name that booked in there?” I asked. The receptionist typed it and viola! The booking is under my name. Elliana Grace Taylor I am going to kill you for this!!! She really set me up! I just smiled at the receptionist and then she told me to follow her, as we head to the table, I can’t help myself to just be in awe of the place and I felt I was in his building again on that prestigious night. Big diamond chandeliers hanging, tiffany chairs in each table and a rustic theme restaurant. I was snapped form my amazement as the receptionist told me we are already in the table. I am seating nest to the window where I can see the view of the city. Wow! This is just amazing. A waitress then came up to me and gave me the menu and asked if I want something to drink. I just told her can I have a glass of Merlot please and she then nod at me and walk towards the bar. I was still mesmerized at the place until I realize I need some scolding to do to this particular person. I immediately took my phone and dialed her number, as she picked up after three rings I immediately yelled at her on the phone I didn’t even care a lot of people was sending me death glares because I was too loud, when I finished she just laughed at me and told me that everything was already paid that I just need to show up. I yelled at her again, she really did this on purpose. She still keeps on laughing and after she told me that my date is wearing a blue polo shirt then said goodbye. Lucky she is my best friend and I love her very much because if not I should just punch her in the gut. Oh well here it goes, I already said yes to this there’s no way in backing out. It’s been an hour that I waited for someone to come to my table wearing a blue polo shirt, but there is none I let out a frustrated sigh and talked to myself “Urgh! Elli! Where is that guy? Maybe he will be the one who will ditch this date.” I haven’t notice that the glass of wine was already finished and the waitress asked if I needed more and I just smiled at her and told her I’m all good, I am still driving heading back home so getting drunk isn’t a good thing. I just looked at my watch and told myself to give him 30 more minutes. I took a deep breath then told myself “Okay 30 more minutes and that’s it Im out of here!” ~John~ I was happily talking to someone at the club when my phone rang. I gritted my teeth in annoyance, this would be good or else! I picked up my phone and saw that it’s my friend Ace who rang me. I just took a sip on the drink that I had on my hand then answered it. “Yow Ace! What’s up?” I still had my cheery voice even if I am so annoyed at what he did. “Dude! I need you help!” his voice was a little bit panicky at the moment. “What for? Is it an emergency? You know I’m off duty tonight.” I told him. “Yeah I know that, it’s not related to your profession dude”. My brows furrowed and asked him “What is it all about?” you could hear that my voice is getting annoyed. “I have a date---“ When I heard the word date I cut him off and told him immediately “Nope! Don’t want to be a substitute, bye Ace!” I was about to hang up when he screamed on the phone, what the? “Dude let me finish first okay?” I nodded like an i***t and realize that he couldn’t see me and told him okay. “I have a date, and my car broke down in the middle of the road, I just want you to go to replace me.” Just what I thought his substitute. “Dude, if you don’t like you date tonight don’t make up any excuses, messaged her or something.” I told him “I’m not really making up excuses dude, I am already at the road and my car broke.” Okay then will agree with this, “Okay fine what am I suppose to do?” I asked. He gave me instructions to go to this restaurant that is around 30 minutes drive from here and tell the receptionist that you have a booking under the name of Margaret Summers. Margaret Summers? That name sounds familiar. “So that’s it?” I asked with a cold tone of voice. “One thing as well man you need to wear a blue polo shirt”. Lucky him I already wore a blue polo shirt. “How lucky of you man that you will be the one showing up on the date, her friend told me about her and she sounds and amazing woman”. I could hear the disappointment on his voice. “Well it seems that this girl maybe the one for me and not for you Andrews!” I laughed at my remark at him. “SHUT UP MYERS!” I laughed some more. “And more thing John” he added. “I think she’s at the restaurant already, waiting like an hour ago.” I stood up quickly on my seat and shouted at him on the phone “WHAT!!???” One thing that I hate the most is making a lady wait urgh Ace! “Okay bye Myers and good luck on the date” He then hangs up. I immediately gulp my drink and took off at the club and heading straight in the restaurant that Ace told me. Thankfully I have some mints and body spray in my car so in times like this I don’t reek. A messaged pop into my phone it was Ace. “Remember the name of your date Margaret Summers; you will know her immediately as she has a pink ribbon on her hair, good luck again man! I’m so jealous!” I just let out a big sigh on what I read, turned on my car, and then drove as fast as I can to the restaurant. When I arrived at the restaurant, I looked at my watched and its good ‘coz I arrive in 30 mins. I walk immediately at the receptionist and she greeted me with a wide smile, she then asked me if I have any bookings and told her that it’s under the name of Margaret Summers. Seriously, that name is so familiar where did I hear that before? Her smile faded and told me with a cold voice that she is already waiting for me like an hour ago, and she points away to the person sitting near the window with a pink ribbon on her hair. So Ace was right she did have a pink ribbon on the hair. I smiled and thanked the receptionist and walk straight into the direction where my date was. When I was about an inch near her, she went up on her seat, I backed out a little bit and when she turned around she saw me. I was in shock and surprise and so does she. “Blue Polo Shirt!” “Pink Ribbon!” We said it in unison and I could sense that a lot of people were staring at us right now.
