Kyle knew the place very well. Having been raised by Warg, they had come here a lot to visit his uncle. Kyle grabbed Robbie’s hand and led her through a secret passage near the servant’s quarters. Behind the gate there was a latch, thought to belong to nothing. Kyle twisted and pulled it forward. The ground in front of them moved across, to reveal a spiraling stone stairway.
The staircase led into the lower dungeon. “Stay close.” Kyle whispered to Robbie. Still holding onto her hand, he descended the stairway with Robbie only a step behind.
“It’s so dark,” Robbie stated “And cold.” She added. “There is no way there is anyone alive down here.”
“Sh.” Kyle told her coming to the end of the stairs. There was a flickering light at the end. Kyle squinted to see what it went to.
