The City Of Surprises

Nick and I wrap towels around ourselves and head to the bathroom to wash up again. After what happened earlier, we had decided to take separate showers, knowing if we got in together what would happen, and we were now in a hurry. I quickly wash off and got out. Nick got in after me. We had brought our clothes with us, so while he showered, I got myself dressed and did my hair. I applied light makeup and went back to the room to find my shoes. Nick finished his shower and got himself dressed and styled his hair. Once we were both ready, we walked downstairs to join Angel, TJ and the kids. Fortunately, they had not messed up their clothes and Angel had styled Nell's hair in adorable braids that pulled into pink tails. Mommy! They shouted in unison and ran over to hug me. My oldest. asks where I have been, and I look over at TJ. She mouths the word sleep and winks at me. I smiled back grateful. I looked down at my son and told him mommy was sleeping. We had so much fun last night that mommy was exhausted, so I needed to take a nap. Trey eyes me for a moment, searching for the truth in my face. I simply smiled at him and ruffled his hair. He says" Okay ma', Can we go now?" I'm hungry. Yes honey we can, let's get your jackets on first, okay? He nods his head and Trey & Nell cheer excitedly to go to ther city. TJ walks over to Trey, How are you still hungry son? You just had food less than an hour ago. Trey shrugs his shoulders. I'm a growing boy. I shake my head at him and laugh, TJ, Angel and Nick just laugh at his antics. Angel hands Trey his jacket and hat, Nick helps Trav get his hat and jacket on and zip them, while I get Nell's jacket and hat on her. We all walked towards the door and grabbed our jackets. I check my pockets for my keys and realize that last night I had given them to Liz, f**k! My keys. Nick asks what's wrong and I explain that last night I had to give my keys to Liz, she knew I was upset and didn't want me to leave. OH, he says in response. TJ tells us to hold on a minute. She runs upstairs, and we wait for her. I'm a little confused, but I just wait patiently. She comes back and holds up my keys. I sigh in releaf. I told Liz to give them to me, so I can put them with mine, so we don't lose track of them or forget where they are.TJ says. Thank you!! Is all I can say at the moment. We are about to leave the house when TJ gets a call from Bishop, "hey hold on guys" she says to us. Hey brother, What's up, Bishop tells us he is about to leave. Instead of coming back to the house, he'd just meet us at the restaurant. We all scream HEY!, he's on speaker, so he hears us clearly. "What up," he replies," Okay, I'll see you guys soon. He ends the call, and we head out of the cars. TJ, Angel and Trey ride together. I take my car. Nick, Trav and Nell rode with me. I set the GPS. It's only an hour's ride, so we should get there pretty quickly. Nick replies with a simple "Cool". The quicker I get there, the better. I'm starving. I look over at him and act like I'm thinking hard. Hmm, I wonder why? I say with a giggle, but seriously, me too, I'm so hungry af. We reached New York relatively quickly. There wasn't much traffic, so we got there with ease. We exit the car and wait in front of the rest of the group to meet us so we can enter together. After a few minutes, Bishop, TJ, Angel and Trey walk up & we enter the restaurant together. We had made reservations, so we were seated within minutes. We looked around as we were escorted to our table. This place is simply adorable, elegant yet comfortable. The bright, vibrant color decor gave the room an inviting feel. Once we were seated, we all took a minute to look over the menu, before the waiter came over to bring the water and bread sticks that tasted amazingly warm, fresh and soft. The waiter gave us a few minutes to decide what we wanted. When she returned to the table, she had gotten most of the orders down and it was Angels turn to place her order. The waiter looked at her and asked her "Okay gorgeous, what can I get for you? TJ looked at the waiter with raised eyebrows and looked over to Angel who had started blushing, she looks down at the menu intensely and she placed her order, not giving the waiter any eye contact.. Once she finished, the waiter looked at TJ and said" What can I get for you? TJ replied to the waiter, I'll have what my WIFE is having, adding" enphasis on the word wife, with 2 strawberry tequila shots for us. The waiters eyes widened and attempted to apologize, but TJ had interrupted her, cutting her off mid sentence, Actually make it 2 rounds of shots for everyone at the table. The wife and I are celebrating here with our friends, and looks at the water coldly. The waiter wrote down the last of the add ons from our orders and scurried away from the table as quickly as possible. The embarrassment and fear on the poor woman's face was evident. TJ looks around the table and says we are definitely not leaving this chick a tip, f**k that. we all bust out laughing at TJ's smart remark. I saw that coming I reply, but I made a mental note to be the last to leave the table to ensure I leave her a nice tip. She royally f****d up but I felt bad, I mean this will definitely be a lot of work with our table and I had worked as a server in the past, so I definitely know how it is. Tips are a big part of our income. We engaged in light conversation and reminisced on the old times and shared stories of our part and moments with one another. Once our food arrived we all waited for the last person to be served said grace before we ate and dug in. The food had such great flavor, the aroma was intoxicating and had our taste buds in heaven and our mouths practically watering. Once we finished our dinner before ordering dessert, we all raised our last shot glasses and cheered to a beautiful evening with one another. (we had given the kids little red plastic shot glasses with apple juice so they wouldn't feel left out. They really enjoyed cheering with us.) Smart move on TJ's part by grabbing the plastic shot cups from home before leaving the house. I wondered why she grabbed them, now it was clearly understood. after having dessert and cleaning up the kids and all taking turns in the bathroom, I slid my credit card in the check book, once the waiter brought the receipt to the table I discretely pulled out two $20 bills and slipped them in the small check book, then grabbed my card and jacket and left. We had decided to walk around times square and do a little shopping and sight see. As we walked down the street I had the two youngest in the double stroller i kept in my trunk and Trey had decided to hold TJ's hand, I felt a hand grab mine as we walked down the street and took in the magical lights and scenery. I looked down and saw that Nick is holding my hand, my heart fluttered, I looked up at him and smiled. It's kind of funny how such a simple act can warm your heart and make you smile so big I thought to myself. We continued to walk down the street and had passed the Museum of s*x, of course TJ couldn't help but make a snarky comment about Nick and I. TJ had said hey Nick you and Tara should check it out after this afternoon's events. Maybe you guys could learn a few new moves and winked at us. The shocked expression on Bishops face of uncomfortable embarrassment to have heard it and the deep red shade on Nicks ears, neck and cheeks had caused TJ to burst into a fit of laughter. The attention TJ had drawn to us had the the people around us, laughing and snickering as she had definitely said it loud enough for everyone around us to hear. Everyone had a good laugh at our expense and Nick elbowed TJ and said Dude, shut the f**k up. I looked over at Bishop, he refused to give me eye contact. I got this uneasy feeling from him and I looked away. I felt really bad. I couldn't figure out why. I smacked Tj's arm, and she looked at me and said" WHAT, you guys were getting it in weren't you?" I looked at her in horror, shaking my head. That's really weird, I thought to myself and made a mental note to talk to him about it later. Not long after that we looked at different stores around us, and decided to split up and meet back at the Macy's store in an hour. I take all three of the kids and head to the m&m store I tell them they have a $30 limit, I know they're going to go over the limit but i brought enough cash so even if they do It'll be fine. I ask the associate that came and asked me if i needed some help if she had another associate that each both them can help the boys. I told the associates the kids have a $50 limit each quietly so that the kids didn't hear me.
