The Ceo's love Triangle

chapter 2: The proposal

The next morning, Steph woke up to the sound of birds chirping and her alarm clock buzzing. Looking over at the alarm clock sitting on her nightstand, she saw that it was almost seven o'clock. With one more yawn, she pushed herself off her bed and started walking towards her bathroom, she then proceeded to take a shower. As soon as she stepped out of the shower, she wrapped a towel around herself and started looking for something to wear.

She eventually found an outfit that fit well enough that it wouldn’t look like she wore a skirt underneath or anything like that, but still looked comfortable. She then grabbed her purse and headed downstairs to get some breakfast before heading into her car to go to work.

When she got there, a few people had already arrived, but not too many so she could just hang out and make friends with them.

"Good Morning!" One of the employees yelled from behind the desk.

"Morning," Stephanie replied, smiling as she walked closer to the desk. "Is the new guy here?"

"Oh yeah," the employee nodded, gesturing to one of the workers behind the counter, "I have no idea, I haven't seen him before though."

"hmm ok," Stephanie grinned as she approached him, "so what's your name?"

"Alexander Koffman, but everyone calls me Alex. It's nice to meet you, um...uh..."

"Stephanie Bower," the girl answered, holding out a hand, "it's a pleasure to meet you Alex.

After shaking hands with the girl, Alex turned back to face the person standing behind the desk, "Hey, can I talk to the Ceo now please?"

"Yes, of course. You're welcome to sit down if you'd like." The man said as he turned around and began typing away on his computer.

"you literally just met the CEO a while ago," the man told Alex.

Alex seemed surprised, "Wow! that's quite amazing, a female CEO is rare," he chuckled.

"Yeah, she isn't exactly known for being very friendly to men. Don't worry though, she'll warm up eventually," the man assured his Alexander, giving him another smile as he did so.

With that being said, Alexander headed straight to the Ceo's office without any hesitation. Once he reached her door however, Alex hesitated for a moment, before turning the doorknob and entering her office. When he made eye contact with the Ceo, she immediately looked away from him and continued working.

"Sorry for interrupting you Stephanie," Alexander spoke softly.

"It's fine Alex," the Ceo replied, "you can come right in."

Alex obliged, stepping into the room. Stephanie sat across from him and placed her elbows on the desk, resting her head in between her hands. After looking over at Alexandra for a second, he noticed that she was staring intensely at the ground and fidgeting slightly. He wondered whether she was uncomfortable in her own office, so he decided to speak to her.

"So, uh, Stephanie..."

The girl snapped her head towards him, quickly fixing her posture as he did so. Her eyes were shining with something akin to fear, causing Alexander's heart rate to increase tenfold.

"Hm? Oh, sorry, I've been zoning out a little bit lately," Stephanie apologized.

"No worries, I get it. Just trying to figure out how old you are and stuff," Alexander laughed, trying to ease the situation.

"Ah yes, I guess you probably aren't used to dealing with women," Stephanie responded sarcastically, rolling her eyes playfully.

Alex simply chuckled in response, "what? Of course not."

"Well I'm twenty five," Stephanie informed Alex, "and we're actually only half way done."

"Really?" Alex exclaimed in shock.

"Yeah," Steph confirmed, "I mean, it' s only been a few minutes since we met, but I honestly feel like we're getting somewhere. But we're still pretty far off."

Alex just smiled in response, nodding as he listened to Stephanie. The silence that came after Stephanie's speech lasted a bit longer than normal until she broke the silence.

"Anyway, enough of the chit chat. I'm sure you didn't come here to know about me, " Stephanie commented.

"Nope," Alex nodded, "I have a proposal for your company," he replied.

"Oh yeah?" Stephanie raised an eyebrow, "and what might that be?"

"This is easily one of the biggest company in the world to be owned by just one woman, right?"

Stephanie simply nodded in responce, "well, I figured that we should expand the company to include more than one division. You could easily double our workforce by the end of next year, or even double our sales," he explained.

"That's not really going to happen Alex, my employees are all experienced. Plus, who are you to assume that you can tell me what to do?" Stephanie countered.

"I think it's obvious Stephanie, that I'm someone worth listening to. Besides, I'm not talking about selling this company. My suggestion would be bringing more business to the city, including hiring more people to work for us. We can expand our reach and gain more market share within three years," Alex suggested.

"What makes you think I care? You're wasting my time and I've got places to go today," Stephanie scoffed, rolling her eyes as she stood from her seat and grabbed her things.

"I just need you to think about it," Alex suggested, as he watched her leave the office.

Stephanie wasn't sure where Alex's proposal would take her, but she wasn't sure it was anywhere good. All the other proposals that she had read hadn't even mentioned how much money they had, or which branch of their company they ran, but somehow, Alex had convinced her to listen.

Maybe this wasn't such a bad idea after all.

Stephanie was new to all this, she would not want to make any mistake that could affect her career and the company in the future. She had to consult her dad about the proposal that was brought to her by a complete stranger with the name Alex.

Trying to understand why an organization way bigger than theirs would need their partnership, was what made Stephanie skeptical about the whole thing.

Alex seemed like a nice guy, perhaps too nice and that alone was problematic to her. Why would a total stranger be overly nice just on their first meeting, it felt weird for her.
