Devon
Where the hell is this coming from?
I scanned the strange place, trying desperately to recall what had just happened, but all I had in my head was the buzzing sound. I have actually lost my memory!
Then the breath of a human being drifted to my nose, and a girl appeared in sight. She was standing outside the door, wearing a plain white T-shirt, her long light brown hair, which looked soft and fluffy, draped behind her. She stared at me, her pale blue eyes betraying a hint of uneasiness, like a startled rabbit.
I thought she must be the owner of the house, just when I thought she was going to call the police or scream. She came slowly towards me, a little unexpectedly.
"Hey, who are you?" She stopped, "How did you get here?" "
How shall I account for it? I am wondering how I got here in the first place. I did not want her to treat me like a bad person, and I did not want to alert the police here. The police would be sure to arrest me as a perverted robber, and so things would become very troublesome.
Or I could just knock her out and leave as if nothing had happened. She was just a little girl, as vulnerable as a little rabbit in my eyes.
I knew how I look now, and no matter how I explain it, she would not believe it. I determined to settle the matter in the most direct way, but as I stared at her my instinct told me that what I wanted to do was not to stun her, but . . . But...
Get close to her, just that much closer. It was as if an invisible pull was closing the distance between me and her until my eyes were full of hers. Her body exhaled a faint fragrance resembling an apple-and-honey mixture, which I had never smelled before.
So fragrant! The humming in my head was like sunlight piercing a thick cloud, and gradually it became clearer.
Suddenly out of the darkness appeared an old lady with silver hair, dressed in a broad, monk-like gown of deep blue, and her owl-like eyes gleaming brightly in the darkness. When did she show herself, and why could I not smell her?
The girl in front of her called to her grandmother and ran to her side. The girl's grandmother came up to me with a smile on her face and kindly asked if I was in trouble.
The moment she touched me, however, my body seemed invaded by a powerful electric current, and my breathing almost ceased!
It's magic! The old woman must be a witch!
She led me into the house with an evident enthusiasm which I could not refuse. For I found that I could not speak at all, and that I could not use the energy of my body. She controlled me by magic!
When I came to her house she made an excuse that her granddaughter had gone to a neighbor to borrow clothes for me. I sat down uneasily on the sofa, while the old woman in front of me hastily found a blanket for me to put on.
"So, if I'm not mistaken. You are a werewolf, are you?” The old lady looked at me impassively, a world away from her passionate manner of the moment.
I nodded, only to see her smile with satisfaction. Then she continued to ask me, "What's your name and why are you here?" "
I thought of a false name to tell her, but all I could do was to hiss. Then she recited a spell to me, and before my mouth could speak properly.
"Cole." I said, "Here's my name."
"I'm Vicki!" The old lady said, "Why are you here?"
"I don't know." I honestly said, "I also want to know how I got here." "
"I hope you don't lie to me, otherwise I'll have a way to get what I want." The old lady sneered, "But it will make you miserable." "
"I didn't lie." I said, "I have amnesia, I can't remember what happened before that."
"Oh, you have amnesia." The old lady showed a skeptical look, "Or I can help you recover your lost memories."
She got up and walked round behind me, and then she put her thin hands on my head. When her fingers first touched my head I felt it burn as if it were on fire. The heat from between her fingers was rapidly creeping into my head, and I felt great pain.
I could not repress a snarl, as the memory of my loss flashed through my mind like lightning.
I f*****g remember!
I remember driving to Phoenix for the annual Alpha Conference, which King Logan personally convened. Halfway through, however, I was attacked. An unlicensed car ran off the side of the road and overturned my car.
A gang of Rogues jumped out of the car, and in spite of themselves attacked me directly. So I changed into my wolf form and fought them, but among them was an alpha wolf.
They kept draining my energy, and alpha wolf took the opportunity to bite me. When the odds were against me I had to run.
The enemy was in hot pursuit, and I stumbled into an abandoned temple-like place. A new round of fighting unfolded in this deserted temple, and I killed several of the minions of the other party. When I was exhausted, the alpha wolf attacked me. He had been waiting for this moment.
Just as I thought I was going to die, a blinding light enveloped me, and I lost consciousness in an instant. When I woke up, I realized I was in a strange place.
"It turns out that you are Alpha Devon ." The old lady calmly said my name, and she got my memory.
"I warned you better not lie to me." The old lady's eyes shone with a keen light.
"What do you want, witch!" I said to her, "Now that you know who I am, you should let me go." "
"Nope." The old witch stared at me, "I won't let you leave this house until I figure out why you're here." "
"What do you want to do?" I glared at her,"
"I won't do anything to you, as long as you are obedient."
Be obedient! Is she a dog to me?
"Unless I let you go, you simply can't leave this house for half a step." The old witch chanted a mantra while drawing circles in the air with her forefinger.
Then a circle of pale blue flames appeared in the air, and with a single glance the flames immediately enveloped me.
"Is it hot?" She asked.
I shrank from making a sound, but the burning sensation grew more and more pronounced. It was as if my body had fallen into a furnace and been burned.
"If you call a stop, I will stop."
"Stop!" I could not repress a cry.
Presently the flames died away. But my skin still had the ache of being burned, and I was surprised to find that the blanket I had wrapped about me was not left unscathed.
It's magic! The fact that the old witch could use illusions showed that she was no ordinary witch. Well, I confess I could not beat her!
"Listen! When I find out why you are here, I shall naturally let you go. But until then, you must listen to me. The old witch said solemnly, "If anyone asks, you say that you are the grandson of my distant cousin, and this time you have come to join me." Have you remembered?"
I nodded, thinking it best not to provoke her at this time.
By this time her granddaughter had returned. The old witch had lied to her granddaughter about my having been robbed, and her granddaughter had not believed it at first. She kept asking me questions, but the old witch cut her short.
She took me upstairs to my room, and when I rose my limbs were heavy and numb. I knew that in my present state I could not in the least transform into a wolf form, and I was at her mercy.
Damn, I hate this!
The old witch warned me to remain in the house for the rest of the day, and she would not allow me to reveal my identity, especially in the presence of her granddaughter. Otherwise she would have made me look good.
"You can only say 10 words a day." The old hag smiled maliciously.
But Alpha Devon is not under threat. But when I think of that sweet little bunny, if I ever want to get out of here, maybe I can start with her!
