32 They gathered three days later in one of the king’s smaller dining rooms. The sun was just setting over the lake, sending deep orange rays of light through the floor length windows onto the tapestried carpets. They took their seats around the highly polished, round mahogany table. Gavin, of course, was seated at the head of the table, which was denoted by a larger, more ornate chair. Sheldrake, Maud, and Stefan sat to his right, squinting against the last rays of the sun, while Jon, Lady Electra, and Colonel Argyve sat to his left.
