The next few days passed quietly, too quietly for Abbie’s liking. Keith didn’t show up again that week, which was both a relief and a weird sort of disappointment she refused to name. Roxanne was always gone, school, internships, errands, things that sounded adult and exhausting. The condo had started to feel like a museum: spotless, air-conditioned, and lifeless. Then Friday came. Abbie was sprawled on the couch, half-watching Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho, halfway through a segment about haunted dolls, when the door clicked open. Keith walked in like he owned the place. He looked exactly how people said he did, the guy her sister’s friends whispered about, the DLSU heartthrob everyone apparently chased.
