"Did you just say....," Leila gasped.
“Cassie, can you say that again…” Joshua said in disbelief.
“You heard me,” Cassie breathed as she stood up from the bathroom floor.
“Everybody out,” Joshua muttered, but everyone stood frozen.
“NOW!” Joshua said harshly, and everyone scurried out of the room in a hurry.
“Cassie, I don’t think you know what you are asking of me,” he sighed once they were alone.
“I think it was a clear request,” Cassie shrugged.
“That’s the problem,” Joshua sighed and ran his hand through his hair, “Marking is not a “request,” it’s a life-changing event, and although not impossible, it’s much harder to reject me if you don’t want to be with me, and much more painful.”
