CHAPTER 11
Ryan caressed delicately the silver locks of his fiancée, the pensive air. This last one slept at point closed, the head put on his chest and their intertwined bodies. The sun had already made its appearance, flooding the room of light. To protect himself, the vampire covered them with the cover. He wondered if he had made the right choice and what awaited them in the future.
"I have a bad feeling about this," he thought.
- I would so much like to go with you away from here...
Alia stirred in her sleep and then her eyes opened.
- Good morning miss.
- Good morning.
He saw her sit up but stopped immediately, a grimace distorting her face.
- Are you all right?
- Yes. Don't worry. It's just...
Her cheeks flushed.
- What?
- No, it's nothing. Nothing. she hurried to say. I must go in my room.
- If you want to take a shower, there is one undermine.
- No, I don't. I...
She wanted to get up but the vampire held her in his arms.
- I apologize because I don't want you to leave now. Let's stay like this for a while. Would you like that?
- But ....
- Please.
- I'll do it.
They stayed like that for several minutes, in silence, without speaking.
- Alia? I'd like us to get out of here.
- I wish we could too. I think getting away from our families would be the right thing to do. Do you have any idea where we could go?
He had already thought about it while Alia was sleeping. His goal was for them to go to Great Britain, which was another kingdom to the north, and then to France after spending a few days in the forest. He was sure that in another kingdom they would not be hunted by Hiden. They would take some clothes and leave without looking back to build a new life.
- I've got it....
He was cut off by a knock on the door. It was the third time in a week that someone had approached this door, something he was not used to, especially since it bothered him.
Alia sat up quickly, almost in panic.
- Is it Sir Alois?
- No. I don't think so. I don't think so. If it was, he would have already come in without bothering.
- Do you think so?
- Yes, I believe him. I'm sure of it. He must be a slave. I suppose he was sent for you.
The banging continued, which irritated Ryan, who went to get dressed, frustrated that he couldn't spend such a pleasant time with the one he loved.
When they were presentable, Alia opened the door and was relieved to see a slave dressed in black at her doorstep.
- This is Hiden's, Ryan informed her.
- Good morning, Miss. His highness asks to see you in the courtyard.
- And why is that?
- He would like to discuss with you, face to face.
- Tell him that I will appear with my fiancé and that if he does not accept, I will have to refuse his request. Thank you.
The man nodded and left.
- I wonder what he would like to talk to you about. Hiden must have something in mind.
- I couldn't care less.
- You shouldn't underestimate him. My brother is a dangerous man, much more dangerous than the king. He is cruel and his heart is as empty and cold as the uninhabited lands of Siberia.
They laughed at the description of Hiden Harrington's heart.
- Drinking your blood makes me as talkative and sassy as you, apparently.
There was another knock at the door, and this time it was Ryan who opened it. He was surprised to see the slave again. The latter spoke directly to Alia.
- His Highness instructs me to tell you that he tolerates the presence of Sir Ryan. He is expecting you.
- Tell him we will be there in about thirty minutes.
He nodded and went off on a tangent.
- I don't like this appointment.
- What about me? I would like to stay here with you, but we have to show that we are well behaved.
- Um...
- I have to go back to my room. Let's meet at my door.
- Okay.
Several minutes later, Ryan waited as planned in front of the guest room occupied by the young lady.
Ryan had only been in the room once before, and the decor of the room would have repulsed him immediately. The excessively luxurious furniture and the dominant red were a horror for him who loved white and simplicity. That's why he preferred to wait in the hallway.
When Alia finally came out of her apartments, they set off.
- If Anemone saw you in these clothes, she would be in danger of fainting.
Indeed, the hybrid had worn as usual, black pants under a white shirt.
- It's not my fault if I feel more comfortable in these clothes. Let her faint if she wants to. Maybe she'd even die on the spot if she saw me.
- Is that what you want?
- I don't like her then, I wouldn't mind if she died...
She stopped talking and her face broke into a smile.
- She heard us, she whispered.
- I beg your pardon?
- She just said "I can hear you very well, my dear".
Anemone had just spoken from the courtyard. Ryan, who had poor hearing, couldn't tell.
- They are waiting for us both. Let's go. Pressure.
She held his hand and led him towards the origin of the noise. As expected, the two Harrington elders were waiting for them. Hiden was standing in his black tuxedo without a crease, hands behind his back, wearing a false smile of courtesy. Anemone sat on one of the benches, still elegant in her low-cut dresses that showed off her chest and slim body.
- Here they are, said the princess coldly.
From the looks the brother and sister were giving, Ryan already felt like he was too much. However, he resolved not to leave the one he loved in their clutches. He might be weak, but he would be there to defend her …
