The Manager yanked the loaded nine-millimeter pistol from the drawer. His hands shook so badly he could barely hold it straight. He aimed the barrel directly at the heavy glass door. Out on the catwalk, the steady rhythm of leather shoes hitting the metal grate finally stopped. A tall shadow fell over the reinforced window. Luke reached the top landing. He didn't pause. He didn't knock. He simply stepped squarely in front of the door. "Stay back!" the Manager shrieked, his voice cracking. "I'll kill you!" Luke didn't move. The Manager squeezed the trigger. Bang.
