DELILAH “You feel it, right?” Mel linked me. “Did you see where he went?” I asked her. Mel shook her head. The conversation with Aunt Lea, Missy, and Sadie had moved onto baby stuff, but the pulsing anger along our bond distracted Mel and me. I had begun to notice over the last few days that it wasn’t difficult to focus on other things unless Junior’s emotions were ratcheted up to extreme levels. If I concentrated on our bond or thought about Junior in particular, those feelings came back to the front. There was no way to ignore them now, though. I surveyed the room, looking for what was missing. Uncle L sat on the floor with Maverick. Dad was with Ronin, Valen, and Grey.
