Chapter 2 School starts

Flora

“Shall we go to your destined room”, The principal offered me.

I just nodded and we went out of his office.

“Did you know your mother is one of the top rank halflings in the school?” The principal asked while we are walking to the hall.

“No, she said it was just the same as a normal school.” I replied and looked around till I saw some students looking at me whispering.

“Don't worry about them. They wouldn't hurt you if they knew that your mother was famous for being a rebel’. He pointed out

I didn't reply till we stopped at a mansion house.

“Wow...I'll be living here?” I asked in amazed

“Yes, but you'll be living with the vampires” he said, and entered.

“What?! Vampires why?” I in disbelief.

“Because we need to be prepared that you might end up berserk and I promise they wouldn't hurt you either.” He assured me.

The hall entrance is completely empty and it's dark. I stepped in and someone spoke and made me jump out next to the principal.

“Is this the new student Sir?” She looks the same age as me except she wears a black dress and she's beautiful like a dazzling model.

“Abella,you're here. Can you show this new student where her room is and all around? He moved a little so she could see me.

She looked at me. “She smells like a human.Are you sure you want her to live with us?”

“Yes, and you doubt me as your principal” and he glared at Abella.

“No, sir, but she can leave with the low ranks halflings”, she explained.

The principal walked forward and made Abella backwards and bow down “I'm sorry Sir”

“Treat her well here and I don't want anyone to get hurt because of her awakening” he demanded, and Abella didn't move a little.

He stepped toward the entrance. “Take care of her”, then he left me with Abella.

I looked at Abella and she looked back at me with her eyes where copper mixed with bluegreen, then it became pure blue.

“Follow me”, She said, and started walking to the stairs.

I just followed her till we got the hall pull of the doors along the way. It has a number on it.

I didn't speak for awhile till we got to the third floor and stopped at the first door.

“This will be your room.” And she opened it up.

The light in the room is deam but I can still see the inside of the room

“Ahm.. thanks” and I saw my things on the right side. I immediately check my things if they are completely all here.

Then I heard Abella close the door. I looked at her and she went to the left side.

“So were roommates then”, I tried to speak to her.

“You see it, I'm sitting on the bed. It means,. Yes” She rudely says it to me.

“I thought vampires were supposed to be gentle and elegant,” I said to her.

“Are you provoking me? You know I bite.” Then she moved closer to me.

That made me stumble lying down on my bed. I sat up. “Then bite me, So the principal might cast you away to be expelled”. I showed her my neck and she backed away.

“Teacher’s pet”. She whispers and lays down on her bed, covering herself in blankets.

I ignored her and started to unpack my things. I placed my clothes in the empty cabinet and my things in the drawer near the cabinet. It has a little bookshelf too. After that, I look at Abelle like she has nothing but herself and bed, nothing more.

I looked at the clock. It's still in the afternoon. I sat on my bed and lay down too. Feeling comfiness till something cold touches my cheek. I swayed it but it felt like a hand. I opened my eyes and bolted up to the corner.

“What are you doing?” I asked Abella.

“Nothing, because you're awake now. The diner downstairs is ready.” Then she walked out of the room.

I thought she had left already when I went out of the room.

“Slow, Others have already finished” She told me and began to walk down stairs.

“You could just tell me where rather than guide me”, I told her, and she stopped.

“Do you know other vampires can harm you? most royal ones who are not scared of the head master.” She spoke and continued to walk.

“Oh.. so royal ones are still around this time? Then you're not one still called pure. What's the difference?” I asked because I wanted to know more about where vampires came from.

“Yes, And no. I may be pure because my parents are both vampires but they used to be humans till my mother was infected before I was born”, She explained, and we arrived at the dining table.

“That will be your table”. She pointed and sat away from me.

“Why? There's a sitting arrangement?” I whispered.

“Don't question,” She said and clapped.

The maid suddenly appeared at the corner near the door where we came from with a tray of food.

They serve for two people only because we're the ones left who haven't eaten yet.

“Wow… vampires can eat too?” I asked in amazement while looking at the food at the table.

“Don't act, So childish and use your eyes only” and she started eating.

I just pout and eat too.

After we eat, we both go back to our room and lay down

“Woah… I'm full” I said, and looked at Abella.

“Abelle, do vampires have ranks too?” I called and asked

“Yes. The royal ones,pure ones and lower class”. She said and covered herself back.

“What is the lower class?” I disguised myself too.

“ The lower class are the ones who get turned into vampires and can't control them unless their master orders them. What to do but the left ones? When they get older they can become pure ones too”, she explains clearly.

“I get it now. Thanks” and giggle

“Just go to sleep, class is the same as. The human world starts in the morning.” Then she turns away, facing the wall.

“Eh…does the sun, don't burn-” I just remember others can walk through sunlight these days because of the witch alliance.

I look at Abella, who is covered by a blanket. She looks young to be called pure, so a child can be infected even if it is in the womb.

“Looks like we can get to know each other” I whispered and closed my eyes.

Abella

“Don't you know I can hear what you whisper?” I whispered back, but it looked like she was totally asleep.

I close my eyes and think I never told one of my side stories, even other vampires here. They were as dead when you look at them.

Then light stung my eyes. I remembered yesterday that I have a roommate now. I turned around and saw her staring at me beside me.

“What are you doing at my side?” I asked her and she just smiled bright as the sun.

“You look beautiful even when you sleep,” She said and stood.

“I already finished showering so I'll wait for you before going down” and she pointed to the door before going outside.

I remember we got our own shower in each room so we couldn't bother others. I immediately face my face and change clothes before going out. Vampires don't need to take a bath, they don't smell, but they can still wash if needed.

I opened the door and she was really waiting.

“You remember the way, right? So why wait?” I asked and walked down the stairs.

“You said that there were others here, right? So I'm shy about going alone”. Then she began to hide behind my back.

“You look like a scaredy cat. Be formal and act like one of us” I just watch her move and we arrive at the same table but now. The others are here.

“Hmm…What do we have here?” Rome, one of the royals. The president of the school.

“Looks like the Vice president didn't tell you we had a new student coming”, James, the secretary, spoke,a pure one.

I looked at the new student who was not moving. “s**t” I tried to tap her back but someone pushed me to the wall.

“Vampires don't get so friendly” One of the top-ranked vampires Jessa

I gasp for breath and someone shouts “Stop it” and I look at my roommate. Her eyes almost change but are still going back to the same.

Jessa let me go and I dropped to the ground.

“Abelle” My roommate ran to me but Jessa grabbed her.

I shouted “No, don't look at her eyes, but I failed.”

My roommate didn't move for a minute and Jessa let her go.

“What did you see?” Rome asked Jessa.

“Let's talk later and eat”, then they become silent and start eating.

I stood and tapped my roommate's face to wake up. “Hey. Let's eat” I said, and headed to my seat.

I just look at her and she is normally moving but not talking or smiling.

I wait for the others to leave before we can properly talk again.

I headed over to her seat and tapped her shoulder. “Hey. Ahm.Thanks but sorry for others”

She was just looking down at her plate. “Let's go to the home room. It's about to start”

She stands up and runs away. I tried to call her but it looked like she needed space. I thought about what she saw with Jessa, plus I needed to get her info about what creature she was. Why live with us?

Flora

“What is that now?” I said while running, heading to some building I didn't know. I rested for a while when I saw a bench near the trees that, when you go into it, looked like a deep forest.

Then I remembered some images of the same dream I had before, but a clear one. I had to choose between a vampire or a wolf.

“Why did I have to choose if I can be one,” I said in irritation.

“Choose, What?”

I look around and someone shows up coming behind the tree.

“Oh..You're that-” We both said at the same time while pointing to each other.

She sat next to me and said “Sorry about yesterday” and she scratched her head.

“No, it's OK. It's my fault for not looking” I said, not looking at her eyes. It was golden yellow and looked like she was a wolf.

“So… are you lost or something? Don't worry, I got your back”, then she tapped my back.

I just smiled awkwardly. “By the way, what is your name?” She asked me and started to sniff.

“I'm Flora and are you? And what are you doing” I said, and moved away a little.

“Oh… sorry my bad, I like just to sniff to know what kind you are. I'm Lana” and she held her hands for a greeting.

I held her hands and shook hands. She stands, making me stand too. “Let’s go” And she started to drag me away.

“Where are we going?” I asked while running, holding hands with her, not minding people around us. I notice all the students' attention is on us.

“Could we stop, please…” I said and I started to catch my breath.

“If we stop now, we're both going to be late” And continue to run

I just look with my hand at her in front, like we're running freely in the field. Wolfs are different from vampires, I thought, and it made me smile that I could be free like this.

“ Looks like we made it in time” Lana said while breathing

“ Yeah, but how do you know that we are both classmates?” I asked while taking a breath too.

“ I just saw your name on the bulletin board”. She replied and opened the door of the classroom.

“So they have a bulletin but I don't know where it is?” and we both entered the class.

I looked at the whole classroom like it was a mess. I froze. I was placed in a wolf class.
