Chapter 14

CHAPTER 14 The night was bound to be scary and exciting as Jason waited for Alyssa to come down from her makeover. The tuxedo he chose was a red and black mix that had a red collar with a black shirt and a black suit jacket. It fit him just right, leaving nothing to the imagination. He was nervous since it was his first time going out like this in a while. Something was bound to go wrong, but he wanted to put any negative thought behind him as he waited in the lobby for his luck to change. The elevator opened to reveal her as if he was just seeing her for the first time. They had placed a 21-inch weave in her hair, it was wavy with a bang that covered the side of her face. Her dress had one sleeve and hung loosely at the top not exposing too much of her breast and became tighter as he looked down at her hips that were bulging out. Then the dress just hung around her legs to her ankles to reveal her small open toe heels. His p***s became hard unexpectedly in his pants. Alyssa noticed since she was staring at him the same way he was at her. The bulge turning her on to the point she wanted to just skip the show and just s*x him right there in the lobby. “Wow. You look so…” He didn’t know the word he wanted to say because beautiful just didn’t cut it. He leaned down and kissed her softly. It was Alyssa who pulled him in close, deepening the kiss. “You will ruin her makeup. Cut it out you two.” Valerie laughed, pushing them away from each other. “We must go now so we can catch up with Yolanda. I got us a limo so we can arrive in style.” Alyssa felt nervous about all this glamour and the spotlight. Valeria and Yolanda tried to assure her she will be fine, but knots in her stomach didn’t stop forming. She had to admit she did feel beautiful though as the silk caressed her body and the expensive weave in her head did make her look different. Good enough to be on Jason’s arm? Not that good, but still she didn’t want to disappoint him. She grabbed his arm as he gestured for her to take it as they walked out of the door. Jason made sure to lock the locks and set the alarm before closing it. As they walked to the limo, Valerie was a few steps ahead as he turned to Alyssa with a smile. “Forgive me if I act a little weird tonight. I would rather have you to myself, but I want to show you I’m not ashamed of you and how much I want you. Not just sexually.” He said, wanting to assure her. She wanted him sexually and would prefer if they were alone in his penthouse, all over each other in every room. Weird wasn’t the word she would use to describe the situation as she had to rethink her own insecurities. Did she just want Jason for his s*x or did she really care about him? “I will never understand why you want me.” She replied honestly. He stopped walking to the limo to turn completely to her. “Maybe one day you will understand you are very special and beautiful, Alyssa. I have flaws. I’m not perfect and sometimes I feel as if I don’t deserve to be loved at all. I ruin families.” He looked down at the hurt from his past and his current job threatened to choke emotions, but it was all true. Alyssa touched his cheeks. “You are perfect. These women and men ruin themselves. You can’t help it if they choose to come to you. You aren’t forcing anyone to cheat.” He grabbed her hands, rubbing them with a small smile. “Your words warm me, but I know the truth, Alyssa.” He held onto her hands as they continued to the limo. Valerie was on the phone as they approached talking quickly about wardrobe, then Alyssa got in with Jason’s help. There was a loud noise coming from the building, catching Jason’s attention. He looked around the corner from the limo to see what the noise was, it sounded like someone tripping over the trash can. “Jason?” Alyssa called out to him as he walked away from the limo. With much suspicion, he turned the corner of the building shocked to see a raccoon, but even more shocked to see Frank’s security truck was still parked in the same spot since earlier that day. He had to think back if he saw him physically leave or not, but he should’ve clocked out hours ago along with Melissa. “Jason comes on we’re going to be late!” Valerie called out. He turned back to them and began walking to the limo with questions running through his mind, but he quickly ignored it, thinking it nothing once he got back to Alyssa. She was all that mattered to him at that moment. They reached the fashion show to see a packed house. The venue was huge with up and downstairs seats and a long runway for the models. Pictures of people were snapped once they got out of the cars. Jason, Alyssa, and Valerie were no exception. Alyssa hid behind Jason as the camera loved him and Valerie. Again those knots began to form in the pits of her stomach. She didn’t like the spotlight or people. Jason held her close as they made their way inside to the crowded area. “Here is where I leave you guys. Yolanda needs me in the back. Have fun!” Valerie blew kisses as she walked off leaving them. “Tell Yolanda she will do great for me,” Jason called out. Then he turned to Alyssa. “Would you like something to drink?” She shook her head; even though her mouth was dry she didn’t want to be left alone. “You look so gorgeous.” He complimented kissing her forehead. The knots slowly started to disappear as he smiled at her. “Jason Sanders?” He turned to see who called his name. Shock filled his eyes as he saw Abagail dressed in her best dress with a man holding her hand beside her. As he saw the couple’s hands, Abagail quickly dropped it as if not wanting to get caught. Jason opened his mouth to speak, but worry showed on his face, though he tried his best to hide it. “I’m sorry do I know you?” He asked with a smile as he shook her hand and the man’s hand. Alyssa looked suspiciously at both of them. Abagail’s face turned sour at his remarks as she tried to play along. “I am one of your investors for the Sanders Company, Abagail Hawthorne. I have seen you at some of the meetings.” She turned to the man that was still in shock by her dropping his hand. “This is my husband Rick Hawthorne. I’m sure you have heard of him.” Jason shook the man’s hand again, feeling the pit in his stomach roll. He hated having this facade on, especially with Alyssa. He secretly hated himself for what he was doing. “Jason, my wife never mentioned you before now. I’m glad I get to meet someone so young and wealthy in the business.” Abagail smiled. “Yes, Jason is very good at what he does.” She smirked over towards Jason, making him feel even more uncomfortable. He wrapped his arm around Alyssa’s waist. “Well, this is my lovely date, Alyssa Sampson.” Alyssa just waved at them, still feeling weird. “I hope you enjoy the show.” He pushed Alyssa away as he walked the other way, away from Abagail and her awkward flirting. “Should I be worried?” Alyssa asked as they took their seats in the front row. “No. Why would…” She gave him a look that made him shut up. “I’m not stupid Jason. She gave you the same look Melissa gives you. Is she one of your clients?” Jason sighed, hoping she didn’t notice, but she was aware of everything. He didn’t want to lie to her. “Yes. I didn’t know she would be here. I’m sorry. I thought I could get away from this but it doesn’t look like I can.” He pleaded with his eyes for her to stay, but he knew in his heart he could never truly have her to himself and that bothered both of them. Valerie showed up right next to Alyssa happily, not feeling the tension between them. “It’s about to start.” She said, taking her seat. The lights cut off and when they shined on the stage Yolanda walked out to greet everyone. “Good evening everyone and welcome to Bare Necessity. Prepare yourselves to be amazed and dazed as I take you to…” She threw her hands up and drums began to play in the background and the lights gave a green hue as people came out in some warrior like outfits that looked more like swimwear. “The Amazons!” she continued as the dancers began dancing to the drums. Alyssa was amazed at the show as the people danced, and then the models walked out which piqued her interest more than she thought it would. Jason was glad that for awhile she was occupied with the show instead of being insecure and doubtful. Rightfully so doubtful, but still, he was glad she could relax a little and have fun. Every now and then Valerie would say a few words to them pointing out different outfits and how they came to be. Jason looked up at the models after one walked by clapping at her green leotard, then his eyes caught Abagail front and center staring at him. His eyes squinted in anger. If she was going to be this awkward he needed some alcohol in his system. “I will be back ok.” He kissed her cheek. “I’m going for a drink.” Alyssa nodded and continued to watch the show. He stood up and walked over to the bar. “May I help you handsome?” The bartender asked with a friendly smile. “Yes. Hennessy please.” “And you ma’am?” Jason looked over at the person the bartender was talking to and winced. “Don’t date your clients huh?” He mentally rolled his eyes annoyed. “Abagail go back to your seat with your husband.” He sighed aggravated. “Is she worth it?” She moved closer to him touching his shoulder. Jason moved away. “You are so disrespectful. Your husband is a few feet away and you are…” “f**k Rick. He doesn’t do what you do to me.” He grabbed her hand before she could touch him, he gripped hard around her wrist to get his point across. “Don’t Abagail. Go back to your husband.” He said through clenched teeth. She was worse than Melissa. Is this how his life would be like for now? “Jealous are we?” he laughed then, a good hearty laugh that rumbled in his stomach. “Jealous? I honestly feel sorry for the man to have to deal with you.” He grabbed his drink walking back to his seat. Abagail watched him kiss Alyssa on the cheeks as he sat down in a pure jealous rage.
