Carlisle’s POV
It irritated me. The mixture of these feelings left me in a constant state of internal conflict, unable to put things in order. While I tried to fix my composure and ensure Raquel’s survival, I could do little else but leave Victoria’s care in the hands of my Beta.
After all, I knew my Beta would never betray me. As Alpha, my wolves were sworn to me, and loyalty was something they owed me above all else.
But I never would have imagined that the one to betray me so deeply would be my most trusted Beta the very person I considered a brother. To think that same man would try to kill Victoria, my Luna, again and again...
If I had known the truth sooner, I would’ve been the first to wrap my hands around my Beta’s throat and tear him apart without hesitation.
