Chapter 27
Blessing
When I and Lance got adopted by an old couple who was abandoned by their children, I felt like it was the happiest moment in my life. They became our parents and grandparents. They loved us unconditionally until their last breath. Looking at Jace and Mrs. Faraday made me remember those moments I was living happily with them. I smiled and went to the kitchen to prepare lunch for us.
It was their long-awaited reunion, so I want to give them time to talk about a lot of things. Even though Jace was too nervous earlier, seeing him happily and excitedly talking to his grandma made my heart soft.
I was about to finish the last dish I was preparing when Jace and Mrs. Faraday came. They were still talking like they were savoring this moment that they were together.
